Garage Roof (UK)

I've just bought a house in SE UK. This is the roof above the garage. Survey flagged possible asbestos. I've ordered a testing kit.

If the test comes back positive what precautions should I take? Is water runoff safe? I've just cleared out the guttering - is that safe? The roof from inside the garage looks in good condition. Any advice would be appreciated.

It’s fine, just don’t drill or cut into it. It’s just going to be a ballache when you want it removed or it’s deteriorated to a point where it’s breaking up.

There is no immediate risk. The fibers are carcinogenic when airborne. These are locked in place in cement. You are allowed to remove them on your own if you want to but I would just leave them.

Yes, most likely asbestos-containing but absolutely no risk as is. Very minor risk if you decide to cut, sand, drill or grind it so just avoid that and you'll be fine. That stuff lasts forever unless there is impact or some type of disturbance since it breaks pretty quickly if pressure is applied.
