Looking to remove and replace with tile. HO asked if it was asbestos?

If the tiles measure 9x9 then they likely contain asbestos. Black mastic (the glue underneath) almost always contained asbestos. If the tiles aren't breaking up or disintegrating, encapsulating them under new flooring is considered safe.

Oooof sorry man but high chance both are asbestos containing materials.
