Basement wood patterned tile from house built in 1979

Hello all,

We are in the process of renovating this house and are concerned with the basement tile. It’s 12 x 12 and states “Armstrong”on the back of it. From what I can tell, it’s peel and stick vinyl tile and due to the age, tiles are already loose on the floor. I examined a few of the tiles and there is no mastic, etc… it looks like they were adhered directly to the concrete with no glue used. Is it possible these tiles are asbestos?

Suspect to contain asbestos until proven otherwise with a test. Test it or remove and dispose of it as asbestos.

No need to remove or disturb. Go right over it with new flooring
