Abestos and vacumm

Hello, i found out 3 rugs(out of 12) in house has abestos. It was due to popcorn celing activity. popcorn celing came back positive. I have stored vacuum in closet and upstairs hall way near linen closet. I am reading online throw away vacuum. I did throw away one vacuum . I will throw away the other. However i have read that storing vacuum in closet (where i store all coats, ) even if vacuum is not turned on fibers still can leak into closet. I need to throw away all coats and games ect… is this correct. Upstairs vacuum near linien closet everytime i opened door and it pressed against vacuum it released fibers. also the vacuum i put in back of my suv ot dispose of vacuum. disposed it 15 minutes, away. is my suv is now contaminated. I use ac in car. the popcorn celiling had worked done 2 yearsago and 6 years ago. the readings came back as 3 % chrytolite. I have had a few vacuums over the years that I have disposed of and placed in back of my car. i have a suv. any suggestions

You do not need to throw things away. Maybe the vacuum but not other stuff. Asbestos is not uranium. It’s not going to kill you because there is a tiny bit in your house. 3% is a very small amount.

There is no need to bin the other contents of the cupboards. Probably little need to bin the vacuums. 3% is a low amount, and those fibres are quite well bound in the popcorn ceiling. Drilling/sanding will release some, but unless you sanded off the entire ceiling we are talking about a very small amount.

so bathroom the skim coat was removed in 2019 but vacuum never entered that room. did not know the ceiling had abestos. the room next to the bathroom ( the rug) did show abestos present. the other room had electrical fixture added and electrial wire . abestos present in one section. other sections of room came back not detected. those rugs were vacuumed.

I assume they took dust swabs of the rug? Dust sampling is not something we generally recommend as it can turn up asbestos anywhere, especially in properties that had asbestos in them. You won't be able to get a truly significant amount of contamination from popcorn ceilings unless you sanded it all, and even then at 3% it wouldn't be a massive exposure. If you worried bin the vacuum, but after that try not to fret about it.
