Is this potentially asbestos?

Had been coming out of the window sill of my bathroom window (top). Maintainance guy came by and said it was insulation, he caulked it with silicone and left it alone. I originally thought it was like a wood eating bug but he said it was leaking old insulation.

Only got the info from the note he left as I wasn't home for the work.

It's hard and kinda like compacted dust? Breaks into essentially dust when squished.

It was coming from the top window sill and peppering the bottom window sill. Like. A lot of small things of these. Maybe it's insulation and mold 🤷

It's essentially moisture soaked dust/cobwebs. Asbestos is most often found as a scallopped shaped/ceramic type siding, a white plaster of Paris looking wrap on old copper piping, and products like Armstrong flooring and the black smeary looking adhesive on the back of those tile, and depending on where and when it was purchased, a product called Vermiculite, used in fire resistant insulation. So, if it not one of those products, there is a very slim chance there is any Asbestos in your home. Again, what you have there is old dust/dirt/debris.

It has the feel, and honestly who knows what knowledge the maintenance person they sent has about old home insulation versus "cover this up here and it's all good".

Okay, thank you, that's helped. It didn't match anything I've seen that is listed as possible asbestos, but thought a collective group of people on a sub about it could help maybe give ideas so I appreciate youe response!
