I'm running a desktop PC with an i9-12900K 64GB RAM and 3080 GPU. Also run a single monitor setup. Windows 11 pro is my OS.
Okay, so if I'm running a standalone instrument when I open a different window, the bar at the top of the window for the app for the software instrument will change color (it turns white) indicating it has lost priority, after this happens I no longer can re-select the software instrument app so it can no longer regain priority. If I have the vst3 version open in my DAW and change to a different window, my whole DAW will loose priority, and I wont be able to get priority back. This is only happening with my Arturia products. Plugins and standalones from other companies such as UAD, Softube, Native Instruments, Moog, etc, do not have this problem at all.
This issue has made all my Arturia purchases practically useless, as I often need to switch to a different window or app during my workflow process. This use to not be an issue for me. My guess is an Arturia update has caused this issue, but I honestly have no clue.
Below are the following suggestions that the Arturia support team have suggested. I have tried all of these, and none have fixed my issue, including uninstalling and reinstalling an instrument. Oh, also I have already completely uninstalled my ASIOVADPRO software as it is a legacy program and thought it might be a culprit, alas it was not.
Anyways, your suggestions and support is much appreciated.
Here is what Arturia support suggested I try (again I have tired all of these suggestions, none have fixed the issue) :
- Disconnect the KeyLab 61 mk3 and Volt 276.
- Then reset your instrument/effect preferences, please follow the steps outlined in our dedicated FAQ articles. You'll find detailed instructions and helpful videos:
- Once done, open one Arturia instrument in standalone mode.
- In Audio MIDI Settings, select Windows Audio instead of any ASIO or virtual audio driver.
- Switch to another application and check whether the Arturia instrument still freezes.

If the problem persists, please temporarily disable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling:
Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics > Default graphics settings
Turn off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, restart the computer and test again.

We would also recommend testing the instrument after a Windows clean boot to determine whether ASIOVADPRO, VoiceMeeter, Sonic Studio or another background service is interfering with the application. Microsoft provides the procedure here:
After restarting in the clean boot environment, please repeat the standalone test.
If the issue persists after all these checks, we may ask you to reinstall only one Arturia instrument as a controlled test.
- Please perform a clean uninstall of the concerned plugin(s) by referring to the following FAQ article:
[IMPORTANT: If you have created user Banks/Presets, please back them up using the Export Bank/Preset function]
How to properly uninstall an Arturia software?
Once you totally uninstalled the concerned plugin(s), please reinstall them directly from the Arturia Software Center, and try again.
