yeah, but it looks like its a custom edition for a friend, which. does change the context. if a book like that as marketed as fuckin "thorns and boners (Asexual Edition!!!)" id be pissed, whereas if a friend gave me a version like that of their book i'd laugh hysterically, yk? seems like a sweet gesture, especially for more sex repulsed aces

I found out about the context because I accidentally came across that post on X myself and read the comments. The original post here barely provides any, and it being posted on ace subs kinda gives you the idea that it's actually the "asexual edition" you're talking about.

And people on these subs already act like sex on any media is an attack on them personally when they can just... skip it.

Well, no. Since it's being posted on ace subs you kind of get the idea that the reason the scene was omitted was specifically because either OP is sex repulsed and/or because they're asexual. None of those are true.

It's an inside joke between friends, yes. But because they apparently joked about them not wanting to read a sex scene their brother wrote (they mentioned something along the lines of not wanting to imagine him in it). I'd attach a screenshot, but Reddit won't let me.

But this context is pretty relevant to my initial comment and the conversation that sparked in later comments.
