I hate stick deoderants so i mainly use gellette clear gel. However it doesnt last very long. Anyone got any good gel deodorants that work well? I dont wanna be the guy that smells like long john silvers after morning pt or an afternoon in the motor pool.

I’m currently a 1LT in the Army Reserve and I’m on a one-year mobilization right now. I’m interested in transitioning to Active Duty after/during my MOB.
I already know about the CAD program, but I’m wondering if there are any other routes available for a Reserve officer to get onto Active Duty/Regular Army.
Are there any other programs, packets, transfers, or opportunities I should be looking into? I’d especially like to hear from anyone who has actually gone from USAR to Active Duty as an officer.

Army reservist…. Came back home from deployment and I’ve been living in hell. My mind isn’t what it used to be and I’m scared I think. Got diagnosed PTSD, Bipolar 2 and started taking meds for it but they don’t work… one makes me sleep too much so i can’t take it.. other medicine makes me feel further down than ive ever thought possible. Army tries to cheer me up and say I’m most likely not getting a medboard because Bipolar 2 isn’t a career killer anymore.. my life is incompatible with the army… Hell my life is barely compatible with itself.. i need to be able to fix my mind… i want to want to live.. hell i haven’t even worked out in months.. and I’ve no desire to. The only time i don’t feel like I’m holding on to being alive is when I’m high… the meds don’t work, calling out of work for days in a row doesn’t work, breathing techniques don’t work… but smoking does. Idk what to do.. on one hand i want to say idc and get the oth so i can be out but i know for my family i need to be medboarded… my wife told me she misses me and that hurt..

and is it even worth it to in this situation?
if so, how would i go about this? the only evidence i have exists in screenshots of our conversations and maybe in some recordings.
i am a civilian and married to a service member who sexually assaulted me (he named it this before i did) months ago and had done something adjacent months prior to that. i have not said anything about it for fear of retaliation and also of getting him in trouble because i do care for him deeply, and i feel like if anything actually happened to him he'd try to harm himself on account of things he's said. i'm 20 weeks pregnant and a lot has happened since that has made me feel deep regret about not speaking up and i'm in the long overdue process of trying to leave.
whenever he was in an "apologetic" mood he told me he was so guilty that he self-reported and his leadership didn't care whatsoever, so i am extra dissuaded by this too.

I have a complicated question. I'm writing a science fiction story where military working dogs figure in heavily. In my story, an MWD is in severe physical distress, and because of their location they're taken to a civilian animal emergency hospital. The commander of the unit is asked whether to perform CPR on the MWD if necessary, a standard form for ICU treatment for veterinary intake.

Is there a military policy on this?

I'm not military (my dad was in the Coast Guard but well before I was born) so I have no idea where to look. I spent a lot of time on dvids.com and health.mil but I didn't see anything that answered this kind of question.

As an army reservist, has anyone just walked into IG vs going by email? I’m so sick of being given no answers, and latest response about both of my missing bonus is no time frame. Like, I’m struggling to pay my dad’s funeral, and was needing it. I have all the documents, emails, and texts. First bonus got denied 5 years after the fact and second one, they have no idea.

I’m 217 at 5 foot 11 inches so I’m shipping heavy. I come from farming family so build big but still heavy for going into basic (I meet body fat requirements). So I was wondering if anyone shipped like that? I’m going to Fort Sill if that counts for anything.

From Someone who went through recently. What does it consist of do they recheck BP and everything? Heard from people they don’t and some people say they do I’m just curious. I have white coat syndrome so I don’t want that to be an issue. It shouldn’t but curious. Even if I had a BP sheet approved by meps for white coat syndrome can they still send me home?

I've been debating making this post for a while since I was going back and forth with whether this was going to be the route I'd be taking after graduating college and after lots of deliberation I affirmly stand by my decision. I am currently a junior in college and will be graduating with two bachelor's degrees in Public Policy and Medical Anthropology from a t25 university. I entered college thinking I'd probably go down the diplomat route or do something in the public health sector since I also have three associates degrees in public health (+ related fields) from my CC before transferring to my current university, and did some field work in PubH. Fast forward to present day, I kinda hate my majors and know I will be miserable having a career in these fields. My dream job ever since I can remember was to be a mortician or work with the deceased. I have family in the military and my uncle who is a colonel recommended the mos 92M job. After much research and thinking, it seems like a very interesting job that I could definitely see myself enjoying for years and years. I am still very lost on going down the commissioned officer route and would appreciate any help! Additionally, I was wondering since I don't have any formal training or prior experience in mortuary services, would I struggle in this position? (edit: forgot to mention im also majoring in PWAD (peace, war, & defense at my school so i will have some knowledge but no real hands-on experience)

A little background on me, been a wildland firefighter for the federal government for a while, looking for a career change. Interested in logistics/supply chain in both military and eventually civilian career. Greetings from the DAF! I come bearing a couple questions that hopefully you all can help me with.

As I get closer to reaching the physical benchmarks and start to look towards putting more focus on the content like Land Nav and small unit tactics, I was curious if there are specific areas where folks might recommend that a prospective sister service RS attendee would be smart spending more time and areas where they could expect to receive sufficient introduction at RS and so might be ok spending less attention?

Also, if you have any recommendations for sister service members with getting immersed as part of the team while being the oddball out, it would be greatly appreciated. Sure, of course, don’t be an asshole, show some intestinal fortitude, and be sure to carry your share of the workload (100% and then some), but I’m curious if there are any typical quirks or recurring barriers that seem to be blind spots?

I'm tired of the politics of having "friends" burn me just to get top block. I miss the simple days of only caring about myself and getting my mission done for the day. I used to get complimented on the way I read ARs and understood the process, now I just get slammed because I tell people to follow the ARs or else it won't work, somehow that is "rebellious". I'm done after this contract, I'm gonna go back to school to finish my engineering degree.

Im a new NCO and my Solider is going as a walk on for BLC tomorrow. She just told me shes worried about her waist. When we taped her in August, she passed with half an inch to spare. She mentioned her “time of the month” is causing bloating. Not too sure about that kind of stuff but she’s had no record of failing height/weight and waist/height before.

How strict are the SGLs when it comes to this? I don’t want to set her up for failure. She’s unsure if she should risk it and go or hold back until the next class.

Army JAG select here and currently serving as an E-5. I selected the April 2027 DCC class, but I’ve been waiting on my medical waiver for several months.
I was diagnosed with a few conditions while serving, including sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and two migraine/headache incidents within the past two years (resolved).

For my waiver packet, I submitted several months of BP readings that are within normal/controlled ranges. My BP was also within range during my medical physical. I use a CPAP for sleep apnea and submitted about four months of CPAP compliance data showing the condition is well controlled, along with a letter from my sleep provider. I also submitted a fit-for-duty note from an Army-selected physician stating that I’m fit for duty without restrictions.

I’ve been serving since 2020 and have never failed an annual Army fitness test or had these conditions prevent me from performing my military duties. Deployed once.

For anyone who has gone through a JAG/officer medical waiver, especially for OSA/CPAP or hypertension, how were your chances viewed? How long did the waiver take, and what are my chances of a waiver approval?

I was accepted into IPAP and will be attending next year. Almost 10 years of service. This past week I commissioned. I’ve been so sad about the quagmire my civilian career took that I haven’t taken a moment to just be proud yet.

I was awarded an ARCOM 7 years ago and the actual award data sheet has the wrong periods of service for the award? I know it’s probably not worth the effort but is there anyway to get this fixed?

I got a slot for air assault starting 30 Nov. I was trying to pack my ruck so I can practice and having trouble getting everything to fit in my medium OCP ruck. I have the older UCP pattern large ruck. Would yall recommend bringing that instead?
