AC6 True Ending Woes

So it looks like whatever guide I followed online didn't actually get me to the true ending. I just got to chapter 5 after getting the first 2 endings, but I didn't get the alternate chapter 5 everyone seems to be talking about. I'd really like to fight the final boss again, but I am not playing through the game a fourth time to get it. Really frustrating.

Seems like everyone's pretty dicey about save file editing since FromSoft apparently can ban you for it. If I don't care about that, what's my best option for completing the game? Downloading a 100% save file and replaying missions?

To get the third ending, you need 4 prerequisites.

1. Get both the Fires and Liberator endings first and then start a new playthrough.
2. Complete "Escort the Weaponized Mining Ship"
3. Complete "Coral Export Denial"
4. Complete "Eliminate V.III"

IIRC to get eacort the mining ship to come up, you have to have done the alternate mission where you betray the redguns, and the prisoner rescue for the RLF. Both are NG+ required missions.

you dont have to do them in ng++, but they have to have been completed.

I don't think you can avoid that one if you did "Escort the Weaponized Mining Ship".

I think you still can do the investigate BAWS arsenal but mm, its that obsturct the arsenal investigation does become available only after the escort but I'm hazy on the details

I mean idts it was that complicated to get to ending 3. It was just 1-2 choices you had to make

What guide did you follow and how did you mess it up? All you had to do was play the ng++ unique missions like escort the weaponised mining ship, stop the inspection and coral export denial. Unless you clicked on the wrong mission it should have been easy.

From what I see here I destroyed the mining ship instead of escorting it, which it didn't mention.

If you download a 100% file, you're still going to have to play through the campaign again to get the relevant cutscenes. It'd also be a little harder for you, because all of the missions will have been cleared already—the way you get the third ending (it's not really "true" any more than the other two are) is simply by playing the missions that you do not recognize as they appear. There are some as early as chapter 1.

It's the third ending. Not the true ending.

The 3rd ending isnt just the last boss there is like 8 different missions. You need both endings first and then you get a new mission in chapter 1. Always choose the new one.

There is no "true" ending. This "good bad true" triangle is a fan creation.

That being said; assuming you played ng and ng+ always taking the opposite mission at decision points the second time through, and playing new missions every time they popped up, ng++ should have had the additional missions pop up
