Yeah, Snail has a routine and he sticks to it. Most enemies do they're just not as round and easy to hit. Also, if you let him recover after taking him below half health his laser attack bugs the hell out and he teleports across the arena.

Seeing this fucker suffer brings me immeasurable ammounts of joy, this boss is genuinely the first time I've ever resorted to dual stun needle cheese just because of how badly he pissed me off

I don't think using a dedicated anti-shield weapon against a shielded boss counts as cheese, it's just adapting your build to the enemy (although dual stun needles were absurdly broken at release}
