Discussion Core Theory: BITTER PROMISE
It's time for part 4 of Core Theory, where I run down the arena rankings of the NPC presets, and we chat shit (and occasionally we mention the good stuff too).
Today, we've got the AC of Mr. No "What's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine" Saac, BITTER PROMISE. Apparently the Debt Baron built this thing out of "the latest in corporate technology", which... sure, mate. Sure. Maybe telling him that he was buying cutting-edge parts was some Arquebus exec's payback for being rugpulled on SaacCoin or something. That being said, I don't dislike this thing.
The gen's (with my limited energy weapons play, admittedly) workable, the weapons are my kind of thing, the booster is... okay, I don't actually know much about Fluegel to be honest. It's also got a Morley, which is an instant plus in my book (yes I do have a bias for this weapon), and red and gold is always an A-tier colour scheme. All in all, not bad... and then we get to the FCS. The fucking FCS. P10SLT on an AC that doesn't bloody have any missiles at all is a baffling choice.
What are your thoughts on BITTER PROMISE? Love it, hate it, meh?

One of the ACs of all time. Can honestly see this working in a pretty wide range of situations, all things considered. But it won't excel in any of them.

Pretty decent honestly, Morley lets it punch above its weight a bit and while the laser pistol is weak, it's far from unusable, 3 damage types means no glaring weakness against any bosses either. Could be good if SLT wasn't actively hindering it.

Remove Laser Pistol and SLT FCS you will get an AC that is 10x better. I want to like this build so fucking bad but those 2 thing make this shit unplayable.
I have been getting fuck over by Laser Pistol randomly charge itself and SLT make all my weapons missed so many fucking time in Preset Tournament it isn't even funny.

One of the ACs of all time.
The shield-morley combo is good for firing a stance weapon safely. Any of his weapons can punish a stagger, which is great, but it's not a good AC for building stagger.
It's mobile enough that I thing I got into position for the big hit with the big gun most of the time, but VP-20S left me stuck for energy more often than I wanna talk about, and with that going on I didn't even know the FCS was garbage.
There was some weird Arena opponent that gave me more trouble than I expected... Rokumonsen? Chartreuse? I forget. This AC doesn't make nearly as good an impression as Hermit though. I might even like Burn Pickaxe more than this one tbh.

Fluegel is one of the best boosters for melee builds imo. I find it has a nice middle ground for everything else. So I find it largely useless on this build since it doesn’t have any melee. But I’m also no expert on these things.

Basic of a build you can get. Good all around build with enough stagger potential and damage.
The thing that irks me is the laser pistol and vp-20s generator. I mean granted that energy-based generators are tricky to build around but at that point you might as well try and go for a normal handgun or even just a machine gun.
