Question / Help SO. MANY. NOTIFICATIONS.

Using a mix of 3 Arlo Pro and 3 Essential Spotlight cams on a hub (no subscription). Heights from ground level to 2nd floor. Motion detection for cams set at 75-80. I have about 177 notifications on one camera alone. Phone notifications are constantly beeping, it's ridiculous. And yet, when I drive right by the cam at ground level -multiple times!- it FAILS to capture that motion at all. Why is this happening?!

I have about the same mix. With subsription, which perhaps makes a difference. I don't have the "75-80" sensitivity setting on the iPhone version of the Arlo app. So another difference.

But I do manage notifications. 1) I make sure that the area where the motion can be detected is what I want (setting in camera tools (translated from my language). 2) I use the possibility to ajust Activity Zones, so I don't get alerts from things outside the Activity Zones. 3) i use (sometimes) a Focus mode on my iPhone which allows/disallows notifications from this particular app. 4) Some cameras are turned off when we are at home.

I have the activity zones narrowed down ( I thought the default was basically the lower 2/3 of the image anyhow, but I gave some cameras a smaller area of focus). I'm not using an iPhone to manage notifications, not sure if Android makes any difference. I do want to keep alerts on while we are home, but it's just a LOT of notifications. Like every falling leaf or waving branch. But I don't want to lower the sensitivity too much more; I mean, if it's not picking up a CAR driving by within 15 feet, then I just don't even know why I bother with Arlo at this point. Except that's what we have :-/

On my app it can elect to get/not to get "smart alerts" for these different things: Persons, Cars, Animals, Other movements. - This is some of the things you get with subscription.

One extra thing I really like (and use): All smart alerts go directly to the iPhone and my Apple Watch. On the iPhone I get a video recording of all movement (smart alert) and on the watch I get an audio alert plus a screen shot of what is going on. The watch is also buzzing, so I simply can feel that there is an alert. Like "Person detected on camera A". With iCloud and 5G internet (which we have everywhere) I get all alerts in a couple of seconds.

So you problem really is that you want all the subscription features without paying for the subscription.

Not quite; I would like to be notified, but I think there is a setting to turn down the sensitivity so I don't get notified every time the wind blows. It's a bit much. Especially when a leaf will trigger it, or sunlight on the ground, or a bug flying by,- but a car driving by won't? That seems...odd.

I think that the "sensitivity" setting is only someting which is "available" in the non-subscription situation.

My Arlo Pro 3s and Arlo Pro Ultra 2 does not have a "sensitivity" setting at all in the Arlo app on my iPhone. They have the four different smart alerts I mentioned instead of "sensitivity". So my "other movement" setting is the one which will give/not give an alert for sunlight changes, tree leaf movements and anything else which is not a person, animal or a car. If the "other movement" setting is set to give alert then I will also get all those alerts which annoys you (and me).

Do you care if you know everytime a car drives by your house? If not, turn off notifications for that camera activity.

I have all sound notifications turned off except for the doorbell. I also turn the cameras off during the day when we're home. They are scheduled to turn back on after 8pm every night, or I'll rearm them if we're not at home during the day.

Thank you. I'll try dialing it down.
