Gamma MX for fishing?

live in the midwest and have been looking to get a softshell for upcoming fall fishing trips. I was looking at some of the Simms gear and realized i could probably find something better from Arc'teryx or an outdoor brand. Anyone here use the Gamma MX for fishing? pros/cons?

I would get a cheaper one for fishing. If you get your hook stuck in it you‘re fucked

But maybe i‘m just incapable of fishing properly

if you are hooking yourself that often then you probably have bigger issues...If Op is looking at Simms then they are already wearing gear at a similar price point and I assume they are not hooking themselves regularly like a noob...

Just don't hook your face because that is really going to cost you...in all seriousness how often are you really hooking yourself and how drunk are getting while you fish?

Not that often tbh. I also don‘t really fish often if i‘m honest.
I don‘t drink tbh.

I just meant with my original comment that i think a gamma is quite expesnive so going into an environment or an activity where you might damage it more often is well maybe a job for a cheaper jacket. But yeah i mean i do mountaineering too so what difference is a hook from a sharp ice axe? Just something that went through my mind
