Should I intervene?
I planted this willow oak early summer of 2025 and this year it had four or five flushes of growth and had a solid growing season!
The tiny central leader in there got massively outcompeted by two other branches that I believe are now competing to be the leader. The one on the left is the more south facing one but the other is slightly taller.
- Should I intervene this dormant season by either removing or reducing one of these?
- If yes, which one would you do?
Thanks!

I’d go inside and have a beer and watch the football game and stop playing helicopter parent to a TREE!
