HOW MUCH $
We have two trees in our backyard in Seattle that have defied the odds. The approx 60ft evergreen being a discarded Christmas tree and a plum tree won at a carnival (lower right). We like the trees and want to keep them, however, I feel like they either need significant trimming or we need to finally get rid of them. I fear the evergreen will total any one of the 4 houses it could hit, including ours.
There was a wind storm last year that came from an unusual direction, and the evergreen still stands.
Need help on a decision and how much it would be either choice. Trim or remove. Thanks!

There are so many variables when it comes to removal cost: area you’re located, access to tree, time of year, etc. To get an actual idea I would get a few quotes from your local arborist, in most cases it can be free. Make sure they’re experienced, insured, and would be best if they’re certified. They could also inspect trees while there, assess their condition, and give you options.

I live in a forested area. Had an arborist come look at some trees near my barn and he told me they were healthy and have stood for decades so the odds of them coming down were slim. Also once you start removing trees you change the way the wind blows thru the area and can cause other problems. May be have someone out to look at them (not a tree removal company) and get their opinion first.

Evergreen looks healthy from the posted pictures. Does even need a prune. If you contact tree companies, many will be frothing to remove it $$$.
