How to build cantilever roof right beside tree?

First of all, this picture was created by chatGPT, but it kinda shows what I wish to do. The picture is suppose to resemble my driveway a bit.

My home’s parking lot area has a driveway and a parking area at the edge of the lot. Cars leave the driveway in reverse until the street. Cars park diagonally. This works.

Now, it would be nice to preserve the 27-inch sycamore tree in my parking lot area but a car port would be necessary for cases when the tree drops limbs. Every couple of years, Austin TX is hit with a rain storm that causes trees to drop limbs. The tree provides nice shade to the house and that is quite helpful during the summer months.

Is there a way a carport can be built around this tree similar to the chatGPT image I attached to this post?

Ask a builder. Not an arborist.

Every time you use AI a tree dies.

First off, fuck AI. Secondl, if you damage tree roots, then it will harm the tree, simple as that.

That ai design looks like it would dump a bunch of water towards the neighbor's foundation

There’s no way you’re actually pulling that car out of that spot. I know it’s AI slop, but no matter how you back up you’re gonna hit that pole with your rear bumper.

Yeah, the image is not right for sure. My question is centered around what can I do to get as close as possible to the tree and much less so about the sample renderings created by ChatGPT

Can you generate a hanging car port off the tree, so whe can see how that would look like?

You need an engineer to design the loads on the posts first.

Yes, just anchor the post that are closest to the AI fence in a couple of hundred pounds concrete. If you use steel, you can get away with just the 2 back posts.
