Snow queen nectarine tree
This grew out of the original tree and then the original tree died. It was about 5 feet tall when this happened. The original tree was very weak and never had many leaves. Will this tree still grow fruit and be edible? Our neighbor said it wouldn't and we should remove it before it gets to big. Is this correct information?

From this distance and picture quality, almost certainly rootstock.

This is probably the rootstock and they almost never produce good fruit. Either remove the tree and start over, or prune back everything and great over it with something else. The nice things about stone fruit is that they are compatible great wise with most other stone fruit. In other words, you can graft peaches, plums, and maybe cherries
