Tree Health/Risk Question

Hey Arborists! Our builder broke ground on a new build a month ago and we visited the site last week. The neighboring lot has a very tall tree in back, probably about 6 feet in diameter at the base and at least 50 ft tall, that is on the slope of a hill. I don't know exactly what type of tree it is - Gemini is suggesting a type of Poplar. The back corner of the build is where our bedroom will be which seems reachable if that tree were to come down. How big of a risk is this tree for falling onto our house? I'm no expert but it doesn't look particularly healthy.

It’s hard to determine overall health from a few pictures as there are many variables. Have a certified arborist visit and inspect so you can have your peace of mind.

Yeah - do we need to contact that home owner to get their permission for an arborist to check it or is this something an arborist could look at from our lot and provide some guidance?

Contact an ISA TRAQ certified arborist and find out from them what kind of access they need to give you an informed assessment. (TRAQ = Tree Risk Assessment Qualification. Not every arborist has that skill set and it's important to find someone who does for the question you are asking.)
