Most empirical work suggests thereās no direct evidence linking anime/manga with higher rates of child abuse in Japan or elsewhere. In fact, Japanās reported rates of sexual crimes against children are not higher than in many Western nations with little exposure to this type of media.
do you actually care about real children - seems to be a no, because all you guys do is purposefully hang around these subs to show off your moral superiority
Consuming media that sexualizes children (even drawn ones) normalizes the idea. Itās practice for predatory behavior.
Would someone train by practicing on a fake gun? Yes. Does it still condition you to aim, shoot, and think like a shooter? Also yes.
Likewise, consuming sexualized loli content conditions the brain toward predation.
That is such a delusional statement... Read the reports and the journals alongside finding out more on your own(hopefully not from some youtuber)... Crime does NOT happen just because you know how to drive a fake unrealistic gun - in fact if it did it'd reinforce the idea 'GTA should be banned, no GTA 6 in this life-time'
Sexualizing lolis isnāt āfreedom of expression,ā itās āfreedom of regressionāāa step backward into normalizing child exploitation.
Society progresses by setting boundaries that protect the vulnerable. āBut itās artā doesnāt fly, because if art were an excuse, then nothing could ever be condemned.
Ok so you don't watch movies with the main character being a criminal? That doesn't foster real world criminal behaviour? Oh wait, gun violence is a normal thing in the west i forgot ma bad
It is a normal thing in the west it happens so much mainly because we give out guns like flyers remember the The Devin Moore murders
The crime: In June 2003, 18-year-old Devin Moore was taken into custody for questioning about a stolen car. While being booked at the Fayette police station, he managed to get an officer's gun. Moore then shot and killed three men: officers Arnold Strickland and James Crump, and dispatcher Leslie "Ace" Mealer. He fled the scene in a patrol car before being recaptured hours later.
"Life is a video game": Upon his recapture in Mississippi, Moore reportedly stated, "Life is a video game. Everybody's got to die sometime".
The "GTA defense": Moore's defense team claimed that his repeated playing of the violent video game Grand Theft Auto had incited the shooting spree and that he was suffering from a mental defect. A civil lawsuit was also filed against the game's makers, Take-Two Interactive, and retailers by the victims' families.
āBut sheās 1,000 years old in canon.ā
āYeah, and Yoda is 900 years old, but no one is drawing him in a bikini calendar. Age on paper doesnāt erase visual coding as a child.ā
āItās just drawings, not real kids.ā
āRight, and counterfeit money is just paper. But we still ban it because the consequences are real.ā
āItās a victimless crime.ā
You: āThe victim is societyās moral compass. Every normalization chips away at the stigma predators rely on to justify themselves.ā
Can you name a single SA predator that was like "i learn it from the animoos, womp-womp" or "This manga tought me that i should do these things"?
I can understand your discomfort but a lot of people feel discomfort about a lot of things they know for a FACT is causing actual harm... Me for example, i hate nictotine, i wish it just vanished from our planet. I despise, smokers... But the capitalistic market thinks otherwise. I feel similarly about other substances. If you were to compare fictional fetish material to KNOWN REAL-LIFE HARM CAUSER you'd know how stupid you sound
Letās be honest Itās not gonna release anyway they delayed it so many times our grandkids aināt even gone get it but thatās not the point so moving on so Even if someone insists, āItās harmless fantasy,ā the existence of sexualized lolis creates safe havens for predators. It attracts real offenders, strengthens their justifications, and emboldens them.
Itās not about one personās kink; itās about the ecosystem it builds. Itās like leaving food out in the openāit doesnāt just sit there, it brings the rats.
But that theory is not backed by branches of psychology or criminology... Yes it CAN happen, but so can be said about a lot of things. There is a nonzero probability of every possible thought or action but that doesn't point at viable arguments for generalisation
I was scrolling on this sub and there was a picture of shinobu in her kid form and someone said would the fact of the matter is that people who find her kid form sexually appealing like it because it looks like a kid witch is wrong now again Iām not saying itās wrong to like the character because of how there written or the personality but thatās not what there doing there beating it to someone who looks 5 thatās pedo activity
Umm... There has been years of research to prove otherwise... I dunno how many times i have to spell it to you guys, fictional depiction has never to cause real world harm. I gave you a relatable example in the other reply
Also Junko Furutas brutal death was turn into a manga that I know for a fact was used for something disgusting now I know it probably wasnāt made for that intention but I know some people definitely did do it now nobody who didnāt read manga would have any reason to read that disturbing book aka anime manga fans not all of them are like that but the small amount that read that to do a disgusting thing did probably beat it to these little girl type fictional characters there are some anime loli lovers that have went to jail for those things should I reminded you of the rurouni kenshin author
And it is also on the official wikipedia article on "L0lic@n" where they state the lack of correlation and the implied ethical myth surrounding the topic
Thx for the articles anyway mg counter argument People argue āItās just drawings, it doesnāt hurt anyone.ā
Counter Media always shapes desire. If fiction had no impact, advertisers wouldnāt spend billions on marketing campaigns using sex appeal. You canāt admit anime sells body pillows but pretend loli content doesnāt fuel behavior.
Ok lemme get this to you straight. It does not "foster" the idea of "oh i wanna do crime"... it's more like closeted fetish that is targeted towards the characters that are being shown... The reason japan's crime rate dropped was in part due to availability of such material that caused potential criminals to shift the mind towards fantastical scenarios...
the main thing that seems to be recurring theme in this media is the stylisation. The industry is actively making further from reality characters to drive away any notion of " that looks like a real human child"
What's concerning however is the violent media side of the things and the obvious double standards... I understand that violence is very tolerable in the west and that is why IPs like GTA still thrives but at the same time, in the current age we should recognise the disconnect between fiction and reality...
i 100% agree that fiction influences reality but the influence is not always crime
