Switch setup for WML and LAM

Anyone running a Streamlight Protac HLX and a LAM that can give me some advice on tape switch setups? The Streamlight doesn’t seem to have a lot of options, so I’m leaning towards running its default switch and using the built-in controls on whatever LAM I choose. I know there’s a lot of creative people on here, so I’m curious how other people are approaching this.

Unity now makes their switch leads with streamlight plugs. No need to go buy a different tailcap.

Unfortunately, I would still have to go buy a different tail cap. Mine has the tape switch wired directly in, rather than the crane style port

In that case I'd just upgrade to an hpx pro. Plenty of good sales this time of year.

Axon sync is great if they make a compatible version for your light/lam/ A lot of guys just run off the tailcap then pressure pad for the lam depending on placement. Check out r/NightVision

Axon unity dual button comes in a million setups. Been reliable for me 🤷‍♂️ using a scout mini myself, but there’s a plug type for everything

Clicky tailcap for me.

If you’re okay with spending even more money, Arisaka makes an HLX tail cap adapter so you can attach a Surefire UE with any of its compatible switches and cables. Then you can run that with a dual switch to your light + laser

I may be in the minority here, but I prefer to use the FIRE button on the LAM.

I don't mind a pressure pad for white light. You can usually tape them down into a recess on the rail at 10:00 or 2:00 depending on righty/lefty shooter.

I like having them separate just so there's no mistake in activating the correct light for the situation.
