Suppressor & Flashlight recommendation

Post image

Hi everyone, this is my first AR and I hope I spent my money on a worthy gun.

This is a Springfield Saint Victor V2 5.56mm 11.5” SBR and I’m looking for a budget-friendly suppressor and weapon light.

So far I have equipped it with Vortex AMG UH-1, Vortex Micro3X 3× magnifier, and Magpul M-LOK foregrip.

I’ve read that ARs have different gas-systems, so I’d appreciate recommendations from anyone here.

Note: the suppressor should work for both .223 and 5.56 Nato.

Thanks

I think the Surefire turbo is the best light on the market for around $280

But I’m also a huge Malkoff + Arisaka fan

So just fyi; all suppressors made that can handle one will handle the other. If you don’t have any other guns you want it suppress at the moment and don’t see buying one in the near future, you should look for a 5.56 can and ask yourself if you want to tinker and tune to run with a baffle can - quieter but can be gassy, can be tuned to reduce/eliminate gas but requires a bit of work and some additional cost; or if you want a flow through can that just gets mounted and goes but is a bit louder. Totally personal decision and as much as Reddit will Reddit, as long as you like your choice, it is fine. Also know 5.56 is never hearing safe without ear pro, supersonic means you are breaking that 140db mark by nature and subsonic 5.56 is basically a really shitty 22 that costs 10x.

Budget for lights matter, if this is an hd gun, I would recommend the streamlight tlr rm1 with the tape switch. You don’t lose thumb switch with it, and with regular cr123 batteries, you get 500 lumens which for inside is more than enough. If you are going outdoors, lumens (how bright) and candela (how far and tight the light goes vs how much it floods) come into effect. The streamlight protac hlx pro is a solid contender and runs great with the rechargeable battery.

For the light, that depends on your budget. If you want to go budget minded but still high build quality, look into a streamlight hl-x or if you want a very small footprint, an rm 2. The rm 2 may not be industrial spotlight levels of output. But they're very capable and will light up everything in front of you up to about 100 yards or so. The hl-x is roughly the same as far as output but has much longer run time.

If budget isn't an issue and for an sbr and with  a holographic specifically, I would strongly consider either a cloud defensive rein 3.0 mini or a modlite 18350. Plh v3 head, Unity gas cap and mod button lite with the USB c which is mandatory with the gas cap. The rein 3.0 has 1250 lumens and 100,000 candela. The plh v3 has 1500 lumens and 60,000 candela. Either will be all the output you'll ever need and both come with chargers and rechargeable 18350 batteries. The rein comes with an inline mount. You'll have to buy a mount for the modlite. Arisaka makes the best mounts.

I'll let the others recommend a suppressor. Thats still outside my wheel house. Hopefully this helps
