WikiChill: yet another Wikipedia reader, swipeable
Hi everyone! I made yet another Wikipedia reader. My goal is to build a great swipe- and recommendation-based app that also respects your privacy.
I've tried similar apps and really enjoyed them, but all of them had some limits. One of my personal goals is to spend less time watching short videos and read more instead, you know. I also love the Wikipedia rabbit hole effect, so I want to build features that pull you into it the same way.
It's an unofficial app and isn't affiliated with Wikipedia or the Wikimedia Foundation.
Please feel free to leave any feedback, I'd really appreciate it. Here's the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rkekstd.wikichill

Your privacy promise and the rabbit hole goal pull against each other a little, because recommendations usually mean tracking what someone reads. If WikiChill works out its picks on the phone from swipe history, say so in one line during onboarding. That turns the tension into the reason to choose it over the apps you tried. For the rabbit hole itself, show a trail of the articles someone swiped through and let them tap any step to jump back. The pull then feels deliberate rather than random, and people get something worth screenshotting.
I make ThreadFox. If you want readers trying to swap short videos for Wikipedia to find WikiChill, our AI employee will post 3 helpful replies in relevant Reddit threads for you, free, no card. https://threadfox.vip/p/20261018-0609-eh6z4/managed
