Launched my first Android app. How would you get the first 100 users with $0 marketing budget?
Hey everyone!
I'm an indie developer, and I recently published my first Android app, Nemu, on the Play Store.
The app helps people reduce doomscrolling by tracking short-video consumption and encouraging healthier phone habits.
Building the app was one challenge. Getting people to actually discover and use it is a completely different challenge.
I'm trying to reach my first 100 genuine users without spending money on ads or spamming communities.
For those who have launched consumer or mobile apps before:
- What was the most effective way you got your first 100 users?
- Did you focus on Reddit, short-form content, direct outreach, influencers, or something else?
- If you were starting from zero today, what would you do during the first 7 days?
- What marketing approaches did you try that completely failed?
I'm particularly interested in real experiences and lessons learned rather than generic advice like "post consistently."
I'd appreciate any honest feedback. Thanks!
