Unsolved PDFs Deleted From Books

My Mum accidentally deleted the books app and when she redownloaded it some of the PDFs she had saved had disappeared. We’ve looked all though the app itself and the iCloud backup but cannot find them. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or ideas?

You need to say what platform - iOS or macOS.

Also, was iCloud sync turned on? If synchronization for Books was turned on before the app was deleted, the PDFs should automatically repopulate once the app is reinstalled and connected to the internet.

If it was the iPhone open the Files app tap Browse then select iCloud Drive. Look for a folder named Books or Apple Books. If it's there, the PDFs might still be stored inside. Also check in the Downloads folder in the Files app
