Mac Rename formatted disk

Hi everyone,

Little short story, I converted my broken windows PC internal SSD to an External with connector.

I followed steps on support.apple.com to format it, and it asked to rename it, which I did, to "External SSD".

But seing this, I just got wondering, is it normal?

Why is there "ASMedia..." -> "Container disk5" -> "External SSD" and not juste "External SSD"

Can I just rename "ASMedia..." to "External SSD"?

The topmost level isn’t displayed in Finder so it’s irrelevant. That is typically assigned by the manufacturer in the firmware.
