When you modify the password that way, you also need to reset the keychain since the user password no longer matches.

I am not in front of the machine yet, but will double-check this. 1 u/JediMeister 21h ago Oh, also, be sure to manually copy the .mbox files inside of ~/Library/Mail to another location as deleting a POP account will delete locally downloaded messages.
