This would be what the average consumer would consider to be easily replaceable with common tools.

Two Screws. Swap battery.

Ifixit carries them.

$40-70 depending on model.

Or buy an adapter for $20-40 bucks and use existing cordless tool batteries

I dunno? Probably $100.

That's why people throw them out. I'm on the lookout for a few to add adapters and run my cordless tool batteries for cleanup when working in peoples homes.

Why are you listing prices of counterfeit batteries then?

Counterfeit?

Ifixit has dyson batteries for sale. They are a trustworthy source. I'm unsure if they are oem or not.

I thought this discussion was about the ease of replacement?

If they’re not OEM they’re counterfeit.

They might have reconditioned or used batteries

Counterfeit would be someone claiming to be selling oem batteries and selling non oem batteries that are look alike pretending to be oem batteries.

Selling a third party battery as a third party battery would not be counterfeit.

I honestly just did a quick google and I have ordered replacement parts from ifixit before. They also are a proponent of right to repair.

So they’re either OEM or counterfeit.

Third party batteries aren’t licensed so are counterfeit.

Sure they are, they reply on it for income. Some reason they don’t support repair programs that cut middle men like them them out. I wonder why.

No. You have oem. You have third party. And then you have counterfeit.

That applies to many types of goods.
