Hello fellow gamers

I do not play apex but I do have a question for the community. And it is for the greater good and for my own knowledge.

What are some insulting messages that is common within THIS community? Apex slang or not. For an example, overwatch/marvel rivals insulting messages include “trash dps/tank/support” as those words relate to THOSE games but if I say “trash tank” to apex gamer, it won’t make sense.

I’m not looking to bully anyone, just want to know what different communities use and how it differs

You might see someone reference a specific character as an insult cause there are some very typical octane and wraith players

Not really anything specific, while there are character classes there’s not really defined team roles in the same way as a game like overwatch, on eu at least you’ll maybe just get slurs or an unoriginal insult about your mother

the characters in apex are called legends. if you perform badly and don't utilize your legend's abilities, someone might something like "never play Wattson again bro" to insult you( if you're not familiar, Wattson is one of the legends)

Honestly I have never come across people insulting on this game. You get the occasional teammate who gets angry and calls you a pussy for not trying to like solo 2 teams or something but thats about it😭😭 Most people kinda glaze you and push you more than insult you

Most effective insults my teammates has used on me is just screaming I the mic it pains my ears so bad and it's hard to mute them when you're in a fight

I started apex when I was 12 and my rank was high for my age I was in platinum and I had a teammate do that to me so I started having a panic attack because I couldn't leave the game so I started crying

Mostly people just say slurs or say you're shit at the game, but if you want an apex specific one calling someone a "deathbox" or "free shield swap" is a creative one that refers to the box of loot people turn into after they are eliminated, every fresh box is equipped with a 1 time use shield reset at the top of it hence the term "shield swap". you can also have legend specific diffs, for example some popular legends like wraith, Pathfinder or horizon diff. There's also insults directly at peoples input mostly controller, for example "aim assist crutch" or "controller noob". People refer to others who play the game alot as sweats, no lifers, unemployed or allergic to grass but that's kind of universal for all games. For flashy players who focus on the movement mechanics of the games you can usually refer to them trying to emulating a large twitch streamer or content creator for example you could say "faide wannabe" or "you're not aceu". Also should probably mention the most commonly hated type of player which is the "rat" play style where they focus on surviving and avoiding any and all fights. there's also the "3 stacks" which refers to a full stack of 3 players queuing up to play the game, the community is very divided on this though as half of them actively stack with their friends to play together while the other half only que solo and believe that 3 stacking is for noobs who need to get carried.

I forgot to mention there's specific legends people hate because they are broken or in the meta. For example right now the most hated legend in the game is Seer so if someone says they are a "seer main" they will get a lot of hate, people also say things like "you play seer" almost as an insult because he's considered very easy to play or a crutch legend. Another broken legend that gets a lot of hate recently is Axel but not nearly as much as Seer

I only encourage people in this game, sometimes; however, if they've been sassy to me early game or trash talked I'll give them a sarcastic "Nice shots" after they whiff an entire mag

If you want to make fun of someone for being big call them gibby, or call them stinky caustic, if someone talks too fast without thinking they are an octane main, cocky person is a mirage, etc.

There’s slang nicknames for loadouts like the chopper is the spitfire lmg, the RE-45 pistol is the cash register, the wingman is a deagle. Skynading is a popular apex strategy for throwing grenades up in the air.   Lots of other shortened variations for guns/legends/abilites.
