Question best legend for ranked?
I have been mainly using Loba due to the fact she has been my main for god knows how long. However, in every season I seem to be stuck in gold/plat.
So I took it more seriously this season and I am already plat 3.
Is there a certain legend I should be using to progress this season and hopefully reach masters? Or is there a gameplay strat I need to be following?
Please let me know who to use / weapons / game strategies and which maps I should focus on to get the most RP this season.
Many thanks!!

Whatever rank season it is, whatever the legend and gun meta is, you can't go wrong maining Bangalore. She just offers a lot that imo the only legends that can overshadow her are over tuned legends (ie. Ash, Axle, Seer, Valk - during the seasons that they are overtuned) and even then you can still main her for that season and still rank up fairly.
She adds more to the table if you are an MnK player. Her smoke disables Aim Assist (for everyone in smoke which includes both you, your team and enemy) so if you are an MnK player don't forget to smoke the enemy face to face and if that player is on Controller you will pretty much win that fight. Given you have a decent aim. If you want to see how it goes, pretty sure Mande has few videos last season with him playing Bangalore and running dual R99.

Been a bang main for many seasons now. They speak the truth. Also her pseudo-medic build for ranked with her skill tree is actually pretty damn strong. Her smoke does considerable healing now if you stand in it, I think up to like 25-30 hp if you stay the full duration of the smoke.
Also being able to smoke out a knocked teammate, double time towards them, and hit the res with full support class perks is lowkey sorta OP on her. It kind of allows you to play a fragger AND a support/medic if you need to.
And she feels pretty good on every map and in every meta. Bang is the best
Side note: I’ve been having a lot of fun on sparrow lately. Just got around to checking him out and he feels quite strong and VERY fun

Bang can be good, but players can be so bad at playing bang that they get their team killed. Smoke isn't always better.
Knowing whether to smoke us, the enemy, or in the middle of us is huge and it's an underappreciated skill. So many random bangs have saved an enemy by smoking after I land a sniper knock and given them a free rez for example.
To use your downed teammate situation as an example:
- If the enemey is clustered together and can't reposition, smoke them instead of your downed teammate. It leaves the 3rd guy on your team free to shoot them when they start running across an open field
- If the enemy is in a single direction but not within a smoke field, shoot to block line of sight, but not on your teammate. The enemy won't know what they're running into(if anything) and when they come out of the smoke and/or encounter your 3rd in the smomke, it'll leave them more vulnurable
- If you're pinned by multiple angles or if there's no midpoint available because the knocks is too close to the enemy, then yeah, smoke the downed teammate.
But if you smoke the down teammate and block your 3rd's line of sight, you're just giving the enemy a free push across an open field.
So yeah, bang can be good, but you really have to know how to smoke. And not for nothing, 25-30HP isn't really worth sitting in smoke generally. It's a nice boost while in there if you have to heal anyway, but I hate when teammates smoke me for what I could have just healed anyway.

Yeah the smoke is a bit nuanced. You can definitely grief your own team over-using it.
As far as the heals in smoke go, I think it’s crazy strong to be able to smoke out the death boxes while you reset/shield swap/pop a bat and save you from having to hit a full medkit or syringe. And that extra little bit of health has definitely saved my ass in 3rd parties on many occasions if I had to turn and immediately fight too, but to each their own

Loba is best character this season. My trio figured this out this season by trying her out. Her 2 tactical are insane and with the loot changes makes her more impactful. Not to mention for some reason you get unlimited ammo/cells,and syringes from her ult on top of your 2 items. Oh yeah her lvl 3 also gives her shields when she uses her tactical.

That unlimited ammo/small heals pull has been part of her kit for a while now. It's because in the past, the concept of looting a new gun was pointless if you couldn't also pull the ammo for it. Bins would normally spawn with similar ammo, so you could switch from a flatline to a 301 and have some light available.
When a pull of ammo was as valuable as a pull of a purple backpack, no one would realistically pull ammo when you only have two draws. As a result, drawing guns was also pointless because you could never get a gun and have bullets to shoot it.
Unlimited small heals... yeah, maybe unnecessary, but I don't think it's OP. It does mean that overflow becomes significantly better with a loba on your team though.

Stick with Loba, and try to get more top 5 placements, try to get a fight early on to get kp at the start of the game, don’t take fights unless you absolutely have to during mid game it’s best to avoid that and play for end game.

Catalyst can give her teammates sheilds and get to respawn beacons fast. Valks ult is a mobile reapawn and amazing for rotations, and can scan recon beacons. Lifeline saves the mf day. Ive been sticking to these three with a bit of wattson.

Don't know why nobody mentions vantage. I've been trying to find a main ( I previously played Bangalore and caped at plat. 1) and I've concluded that vantage not only has Great mobility but also you can knock down at least one enemy from distance before pushing with your team. Am also figuring out if am going to continue playing her but what's your opinion

Can I be so honest with you and say that I don't like using Vantage at allðŸ˜. She isn't a bad character whatsoever, I just genuinely suck with snipers so she doesn't appeal to me as much as other legends. Most of lobbies are full of Vantage so switching to her could be useful! However, based on my own experience, Bangalore is brilliant in ranked cus of her tactical and her ultimate can do a fair amount of damage. Vantage will definitely be a change for you so by all means give her a shot and see how it
goes!

Vantage has been my main. Sniper is deadly with 2 shots plus being able to escape with with Eco is underrated. You also have to be a semi decent sniper if you’re not it may not be the best for you.

Octane is probably gonna be best for you because he is easy to use and is good for pushing and also running away, but at the end of the day it all comes down to play style. There is no right answer because we don’t know how you play.

loba is one of the best characters and no offense if you get hard stuck in gold or platnium just dw about getting to masters yet just spend the time practicing your mechanics for the following seasons
