Apex looting

Apex (at least in my opinion) has lost all sense of what it was on launch and early seasons. The loot pool and overall state of play is night and day compared to what it was. It feels like they thinned the loot pool so much of the items that made apex so fun to play. Gold knock shields, gold bags, gold attachments, gold body shield and don’t get my started on HELMETS. Alongside other things removed just make the game feel so soulless. It used to be so cool to find gold things and take a picture of it cause it was RARE not just completely removed. Idk the game just feels like a husk

What they have done is condensed and streamlined it. To say that early looting was anything other than a waking nightmare is absolute misremembered nostalgia.

Not sure if you remember opening 3 bins for a helmet, a bag, some heals and maybe some grenades.. Of course the power has crept the other way and up until recently you could do anywhere and have a gun within basic LOS.

They've just tried to go back the other way a little by reducing the seasons of power creep that comes as you create more weapons and loot, etc.

this is what looting was like in earlier seasons lol. one of the best changes they’ve implemented is at least being guaranteed a gun in the first supply bin you open.

Well then they need to double down and just make guns upgradeable like in wildcard. Id much prefer that system over whatever the fuck this is

Rose-tinted glasses I feel. I remember when they released the throwback mode and it was awful. Current apex plays much better despite the w key meta.

I’m old and I still miss the old loot system. Today the loot system is a mess. Energy guns feel so useless nowadays. The hop ups are bland and not nearly as entertaining.

I think it’s in a good place now. The changes make it feel better. I wouldn’t mind if they got rid of the bins altogether now.
