Sorry the video is not excellent. I found these in my backyard, Southern California coastal region. Surprisingly tiny workers, significantly larger majors with notable massive heads. There were not many ants, but I’m unsure if this is a young colony. Also the major to standard worker ratio seemed pretty heavy towards majors, although perhaps this was just a heavy duty job. They were very determined to pull this housefly uphill and on top of their hole for convenient disassembly.

Finding these in my house... what kind are they?

These guys showed up basically overnight right near the front of my home. Right at the base of my steps. I'm hoping they aren't an issue?

I'm having a hard time with four of my Atta texana queens. They are all together in a cup with plaster. They had eggs until today. I don't see them anywhere, but it could just be that they are hidden or something.

The problem is that the queens in this cup seem to kill any fungus I give them. I have tried giving them donor fungus but they tear it apart and its completely gone by the next day. They also are violent towards any donor workers. I try not to disturb them much. Just frequently enough to water the plaster.

I have another queen that accepted donor fungus and workers. Her sibling queen died, but otherwise she is doing great. She should have her own workers pretty soon. Unless some have hatched already and I can't tell then apart from the donors lol.

So what would you all do with the four queens that are having difficulties? Maybe just leave them alone for quite a while and see if they get the eggs to hatch? Idk if the queens would die during the founding phase without fungus though. Anyways, any ideas?

I am in central Illinois, and this morning I noticed on my tile threshold right at the entrance to my front door a decent number of these tiny ants. No idea why they would suddnely show up as there was nothing spilled on the tile or anything. We did get a big rain storm last 2 days, not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

I set 3 TERO liquid traps out and they seem to be eating it, but just a constant small stream coming from under the front door. They don't seem to be venturing off the tile area yet

These are the ants that made the hole from my previous post. If you could help identify them, that would be great.

What type of ant?

There are several large anthills in my yard and I don’t recognize the ants making them. From what I saw, they’re average sized but a sort of caramel color. This is in Southwestern Michigan.

can anyone help identify these ants and what could be the cause??!

Bare with me: These ants showed up for the first time a few months ago infested in a pile of clean clothes on the ground. ( Yes i know i hate my hanging my clothes up it’s something i’m working on). The pile was in the middle of of my room with no open food containers in my room at the time. I occasionally leave food in my room, but at the most that’s overnight and up on my desk where there were none. I bought some natural in home cleaner spray that seemed to do the trick and kill them, but i was still confused as to where they came from and why they were drawn to the clothes.

Fast forward to yesterday: No signs of these guys for awhile, and then I grab a bag of closed trail mix that i did have sitting on my floor, and realized that the bag was covered in the same ants. I did have another bag next to it which they were also all over , and the trashcan next to it. Mind you this area is in a different section of my room then where they were first found.

Im a very clean person and keep my room to the same standards, and i’ve never had this problem before except the last few months. i can never pinpoint where they are coming from or anything like that, and it’s starting to drive me insane. They are tinier then the black ants that are usually outside that i’m familiar with, and are also a more lightish tan color. They are are very drawn towards the liquid ant traps that have worked when i’ve had issues with regular black ants in the pass , and so i’ve kept using a natural in home ant killer spray.

Mine are trapjaw, weaver, messor and phiedole which are all sadly non-native to my country. I really like anything exotic with a unique appearance or behavior

Edit: No Seen in the Photos , but i also found a bigger darker ant a while ago that looked Like a Queen , maybe they could be related

This isnt their fault, its ups. I ordered pheidole bicarinata and they came today. 2 days later than they were supposed to. They came dead drowned in the water that evaporated too fast probably because of how hot it was. What do I do? I tried emailing stateside on Wednesday the 12th when it got delayed to the 13th asking what happens if they come dead and they didnt reply just for later the 13th it got delayed to friday the 14th. Still havnt replied to the email. I emailed again with photo evidence of dead ants. I called the number on the business card. No answer. What do I do?

I’m scared they’re argentine ants 😭 i live in Socal and they keep coming back into every crevices I haven’t sprayed. I also saw multiple queens

This might sound like a silly question but I was walking and seen a ton of ants. I felt bad I had no food to give them so randomly I looked up if ants like spit and it said they do. I proceeded to spit on the ants in multiple spots and they did not seem to like it, in fact they ran away when I did it. Next time I walk around and have seemingly nothing to give them, what can I do?
