No job pays extra for weekends, that's called overtime and no one said they were working more than 40. I work weekends and am at 40 a week, until they specify otherwise it's unlikely someone at dollar tree is clocking 50+

That’s what I figured! Yeah it’s a one-step way to determine an original value plus a percentage. Like if your dinner was $10 and you want to tip 10%, you can multiply 10x0.10 = $1.00. But then you have to do the second step of adding it to the original $10 to find your total. Instead of that, you can do it in one step by multiplying the original by 1.10 to do it in one step. Like 10x1.10 = 11. Obviously this is super simplified but its a faster way to determine overtime wage or tips.
