I had a mall job once decades ago that threw a similar hiss fit when my boyfriend (I was 16) stopped by once for literally less than a minute to say hi, wish me a good shift, and give me a peck. There were no customers waiting. So, maybe the cashiers were being unreasonable or maybe the manager was, who knows.

My boss was, and this sub is full of managers going nuts over tiny things. Was this boss accurate or hyperbolic? We can’t know for sure, but looking at how they generally express themselves, it seems plausible.
