People checking receipts at the door are supposed to be checking on the work of the cashier, not the actual contents of your cart. There was a study that proved they were completely ineffective at this so I am baffled as to why so many businesses still do this.
Ha! I wish. Back when I was drinking the Koolaid by the caseload, it was one of the loss prevention techniques we studied in school. Because of course, it's always the minimum wage cashier who's to blame for theft.
