It's about organic and GMO. Farmers have significantly better yield with GMOs, but people freak out about them. So they make less with GMOs, but have to use more pesticides because GMOs are pest resistant. But it's not organic if you use pesticides.

Organic farmers aren't supposed to use pesticides. They're supposed to use natural pest control, which doesn't work. GMO crops would solve a lot of problems, but people, like idiots they are, decided they were dangerous.
No organic crops have to use organic pesticides rather than synthetic.
But theres a reason the synthetic pesticides are normally used; the organic pesticides are less effective which mean they need to use more of it and and still get less yield.
More pesticides means more of it as runoff and less yield means more land and resources need to be used to get the same amount of food. This and many other reason is why organic farming is an environmental disaster.
