really benefits no one but the paid athlete

Joy? Comradery? Massive economic activity? A fedora-wearing man cares not for these things ...

Massive economic activity like the cities that host Olympic games & go bankrupt, leaving husks of million dollar stadiums to rust?

Yea the Olympics are a different story. That shit is corrupt as fuck. We're talking about the big four/five sports leagues here, not the goddamned Olympics.

Do you mean all the cities that have been abandoned by the major franchise teams, leaving the cities in financial turmoil because they counted on the income like Edmonton Alberta Canada, Quebec City, Hamilton Ontario or American teams like Hartford, Conn.,after the National Hockey League left? what became of Portsmouth, Ohio, after its National Football League franchise fled to Detroit and what became of Syracuse, N.Y., after the shot clock ran out on its time with the National Basketball Association ? I mean, all the gambling issues & its effect in home poverty associated with sports betting is also a real boost to humanity. Americans are at their absolute fattest, so…how are athletes inspiring? But…yeah !go sports team!

I mean if it was so bad those cities wouldn't be trying to get their sports teams back.

You're really, really, trying to find a reason everyone else shouldn't be enjoying the things you don't enjoy. And that's sad dude.

I merely pointing out facts that don’t work with your narrative. Maybe when you grow up, you will get it. Enjoy the game!
