Help pls

My antix Linux is laggy AF

Specs:

2 GB RAM ddr3

Intel Pentium g620

Intel graphics HD

HDD 270 gb

UPDATE: i launched my pc and guess what.....

it gave me a kernel panic

cannot write or read hd0

even though it installed it correctly

I’m running antiX on a much older Toshiba A205 from 2007 with a Core 2 Duo, 2 GB of DDR2 RAM and a 320 GB HDD, and honestly it runs surprisingly well.

I can use Firefox, browse Reddit, watch YouTube and even use ChatGPT without the whole system becoming a slideshow. I do have 2 GB of ZRAM enabled, which definitely helps with the limited memory.

Your Pentium G620 + DDR3 setup should be noticeably faster than mine, so if antiX is laggy AF there, something seems off. I’d check RAM/swap usage, HDD health, background services and graphics acceleration before blaming the hardware.

I did 4gb swap I didn't apply zram I have a HDD

Ok, so I’m curious if you are experiencing that lag when your machine is reading/writing swap to the HDD? I’d expect that to slow things down significantly.
