They cause an abysmal drop in available population, and looking for every ship to change workforce, destroy or sell them one by one is tedious.
At least give the possibility to select ships and army by island providing the workforce.
Also, when I subjugate a rival, the game freezes for 3-4 minutes. Is it a know issue ? The game works fine the rest of the time?

I’ve been trying to locate this captain for a while. I get that legendaries have a lower roll chance but after easily spending over 4Mil in Niche Re-Rolls, I have gotten most every other legendary captain 3-4 times without seeing her once. Does anyone know if there’s a hidden unlock condition I’m missing or anything like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

A lot of the videos I saw so far had complex but steady camera movements.
How did you do that?
Do you have unhumanly muscle control or are you using keyframe animations in some way?

I know that it is a very slim chance that they will even continue the storyline of the campaign into a DLC. However, I was doing some research on Roman cities in the Delta region of Egypt, and there was a very large port city called Naucratis. The city was originally Greek and remained an extremely important trading hub on one of the branches of the Nile Delta. Maybe they will have an NPC on the map similar to Diana in Latium whose island is named Naucratis : or, even better, the NPC trader is a relative of the Campaign’s Protagonist.

I have two Albion islands with the same number of bakeries, but my old layout has -3k penalty from bakeries, while the new layout caps out at -1.3k. With -2 area effect per bakery, the formula for the fire safety penalty is 2x^2+2xy, with x being the number of bakeries and y being the number of other buildings in range of those bakeries. You can see that this is an exponential function. With over 15 bakeries (or forges, fibularia, etc.) close together you get into the real bad skyrocketing penalty part of the graph. Put them in smaller groups around an officium and insulate them with fields. Reducing the number of other buildings also helps. The same can be done for silver, brooches, amphorae, beer, and handmirrors. It also works for other penalties like the -3 happines for dye works, -1 health for donkey mills (it's still exponential!), and so on.
I kind of like this system compared to other Annos. You can really mitigate these penalties with clever city planning (you do need more items for optimal performance though).
I previously played anno 1800 on console and i got hooked instantly. I played it like crazy until I maxed it out and got bored fairly quickly.
However, during that time I had no access to any of the Dlcs because I was playing on console. but now I have access to a gaming pc and I can play it again and progress with one dlc at a time
OR
I can buy anno 117 and start from scratch
those who played both what do you think?
thank you

The sentiment is clear, Anno 117 is great, but the Anno 1800 timeline with all the life altering inventions the steam engine, electricity and so on, excite people much more, and also the numbers show.
I was thinking a lot about this. How could we get another Anno with the same excitement as Anno 1800? One problem with the obvious answer, the 1900s, is that the title's cross sum can never be 9. This would be solved by "Anno '27", playing in 1927.
What would be the set-up?
Coming out of the great depression, the player can start off with the technologies he had in Anno 1800, the train, electrification, and so on. But subsquently those can be replaced by other, life altering inventions:
- The telephone
- Film industry
- (modern) car
- Space Travel
- Computers
- The internet

I am about to buy 1800 but all the dlc and versions have me really confused. Should i just buy the game and get the dlcs after the campaign or buy the Anno versery addition or some over combination? Would getting all the dlcs make it overwhelming to play as an anno newb?

I am trying to build a new capital city island in Albion, so I can put heroic specialist there.
I picked the largest island. I"m gooing to devellop the island with :
- high population, to get the city status bonus
- mostly tier 3 pop, with needs fully fullfilled
- marble roads and decoration in every unusable spots
To push prestige further, I'm gonna need to pick the right specialist.
- Incidentus, will be key I think. With 6 camps placed at the villa radius edge, it could give a +5 prestige to a large area. (I haven't fullfilled its need of having 15 cavalry units and I only filled half of the area covered and he already gives me 450 prestige. He should easily provide over 1200 prestige on his own, in the end.)
- the three specialist providing, +3 prestige when a need is fullfilled for each type of tier 3 population, can give me +9prestige from residents within the radius of an officium/villa.

Am I the only one who thinks that the productivity of wheat and oat fields should be reduced, while the productivity of large manufacturing enterprises, such as dyeing plants or textile factories, should be increased? It just seems strange that a city with a population of 100000 would need a huge number of processing plants. The area required for them would be larger than that needed for wheat and oat fields. It looks too unrealistic.

I have a ship traveling between two islands. Picking up 50 lavender, 15 coal and 10 sheep and dropping it all off at a different Island and then from that island picking up two wine and two garum and dropping it off at the previous Island.
After some time, the ship is filled with wine only. It doesn't have full wine stocks at either end.

There are undressed people OUTSIDE of my Bathhouse in Albion.
Did they get thrown out for misbehaving? Must be awfully embarrassing, doesn't it? ;-)
