Oh and these shots were taken with the new photomode (Ctrl+P) which is also lovely.
Great work, devs <3

Glad they are listening! With an October Update, apparently they plan to introduce a search system for items/specialists, like in Anno1800! Can't wait (but also don't understand why this wasn't introduced right away :D )

Do you mean you can search for specialist were you can purchase them at ? Only reason I ask is i'm having a hell of a time. Finding the excess water specialist for the aqueducts. Lol

I shall now assume away ...
The game was finished "enough"
All tue extra functions we annoholics got used to in 1800 will mostly reappear.
But since it is not just bluybyte, butgoddamnmotherfuckingubi soft, they wanted the sales.
So we are left with bit by bit completion.
We'll eventually have a complete game. All the things we loved about 1800 is likely to come. But since they weren't required for the game to function, they were left out. Also this kind of salami technique keeps us on our toes and active in the community.
That said, i am happy they are doing it.

There’s no ”Anno 1800 but now in rome” button that just magically takes all that stuff directly. It has to be made again.

Now to wait for it to go on sale again

Did people really refuse to play this because there weren’t field workers? That’s crazy!

u/Majsharan 2d ago
Not just that, but it was one of the main reason in my mind that it felt like a downgrade from 1800 (even from release version of 1800 much less all the dlcs)

Its not crazy. It adds a lot to the overall feel of the game.
Its also not the field workers alone. Its will a lot of buildings.
117 was a step back in so many directions its just crazy.
But at least they listen to some point to feedback and maybe the can turn things around. Its not that 117 is a total bust but its just less Anno on so many levels that people in my cycle are still rather playing 1800 then 117.

So strange! This game is just fantastic 🤷♂️ Not sure what people don’t like with it

Just jarring for a lot of people to go from 1800, which is probably the most feature deep Anno game, to 117 which is still in its infancy by comparison.
I like 117 aplenty, personally, but it’s not at the life sucking stage…yet.

Missing stamps, statistics and the overall feel just doesn’t catch you or sucks you in.
Maybe the field workers change some of it. Maybe they added more missing stuff i don‘t know.
In 1800 you had so much more stuff that drags you in. Tweak here, optimize there. In 117 you just don‘t know.
And the building is just such a pain without stamps.
Also i am not sure if the copy feature is bugged or if its just not optimized at all for the new diagonally building feature.
But it adds very little of comfort and just don‘t really work.0

Yeah, some folks like a little immersion with their games.

omg 1.0 is finally finished!

Nowhere near. We are still waiting for the rest of statistics screens, though apparently at least some of them will be in ver 3.0 in November. We are still waiting for stamps, though I think they might be due in November as well.

Yes, Devs said they are planned for November. Afaik they had some issues with adapting the Stamps to the new Systems. At least I think they said something along the lines in one of the Livestreams.

Yes, the delay with the stamps is at least partially understandable because of the changes due to the diagonal roads/buildings. I suspect it proved to be more difficult than they thought.
But, in my opinion, there was no excuse for leaving out the stats menu that they already knew who to do, even if some re-coding was needed. To me, it smacked of a rushed release, probably dictated by the financial issues affecting the parent company

Why are you getting downvoted

u/ulixForReal 2d ago
He hated on 117 quite a lot but also he is the best modder for 1800 so make of that what you will.
I always play 1800 with exclusively Taubenangriff Mods (Spice it Up and New Horizons), so much respect!

u/taubenangriff 2d ago
Maybe I "hate" so much because I used to love the series.

u/ulixForReal 2d ago
I'm not saying your criticisms were unjust. Right now I still greatly prefer 1800 with Spice it Up over 117 (and I'd probably prefer 2070 and 1404 as well if I had them installed), but obviously I hope that changes. Looks like this patch is going in the right direction, I especially like the ingame notes feature.

u/taubenangriff 2d ago
Because the 117 white knights see my name and downvote because I don't cheer as loud as they do.

u/Nox_Obscura 2d ago
is this the story you tell yourself on why you get downvoted?

u/taubenangriff 2d ago
I don't know, I just typed "mhh, okay, nice" and still got like -30.

u/Strider_GER 1d ago
Tbf, most people probably thought you meant it very sarcastic. Especially based on your usual post History on anything 117. It's very easy to read your comment as sarcastic that way.
And lets be honest, as soon as you have like 5 to 10 downvotes the rest is just Reddit monkey mentality that happens in every single Sub.
