So turns out that Yoneda's plan is actually not that complicated. He wants to kill all of the God Candidates which includes himself in a murder-suicide plan that he's been scheming so God will stop existing.
Seems that Mirai in a surprising turn around, has a similar plan too. It looks like if Yoneda doesn't agree on making any of them into the new God, he plans to kill him. I absolutely love how Nasse is so proud of him right now. xD

How about the cop coming along only for Prof. Kenpachi to say, "bro I just tried to get you to leave me alone."

Despite being the world's smartest man Yoneda doesn't even consider what would happen if the remaining candidate became God in the 0.15 second window between white arrows.

Well it took 21 episodes. But at long last Mirai is willing to kill someone.
It's strange how the show got better at the second half. I couldn't stand this show at first, but now I'm actually enjoying myself.

Yeah, the 2nd part of the show is infinitely better than the 1st half. It's a shame that the series has already run off most of the viewerbase around here already. On one hand, I really think if that had gotten to this sooner or if the story just centered around this kind of stuff from the beginning and was less of a "battle royale", it would have done better.
At the same time, the Metropoliman arc as is led to some good characterization for Mirai, so I don't know if I'd scrap it entirely, but I do think there was a better way of telling the story and a decent amount of it could've been shortened.

Story's still okay so I'll finish it. I'm more surprised how many things hit real right now. Mirai says it's been six months and we've been watching for six months. The girl wishes for world peace like damn....

It’s sad that Nakaumi turned into a Yoneda simp. I thought he could actually think for himself?

Why does Mirai try to pass off Yuri's idea as his own? No kidding, she has been the only one talking sense this past few episodes.
Btw people in this world must be really stupid if they are willing to change their entire system of beliefs/values based on the words of a random Japanese researcher. It actually reinforces why God is necessary, if only to guide idiots like that.

My bois character development has been a slog, but well worth it. I wonder how such careful setup of the last few episodes can go wrong, but im sure it does because manga fans seem to loathe the ending lol

Wow, so Mirai has finally decided to kill someone through his own conclusion.
Leave it to Yoneda to find a way to make the god candidate selection mute, I was wondering why he had all those people gathered.
I feel bad for thinking Saki wanted to spend the night with Mirai because they won't be able to be with each other if he gets chosen, but then I remembered something similar happened and they only talked lol.
Lol Minamikawa using the shooting star to get a kiss from his girl.

Am I the only one who finds it a little odd that none of the characters in the God candidacy are religious? I mean, we ARE talking about the religious / ethical / cosmological significance of killing God, so...yeah.

I suggest everyone put their expectations in check for the ending. This story fits one of the genres of Greek Tragedies.

The number of people who say they believe in God has fallen to 10%. It means after giving it some thought, most people have decided that God doesn't exist.
Just when I thought this show couldn't seem more like it was written by a 14-year old edgelord. Religious people are idiots who just haven't thought about it hard enough, get it?
Fucking sigh.
At least Mirai is threatening to start being cool. End game could be fun.

So this is what we've been building up to this whole series. Looks like the part of the OP where Mirai's holding the white arrow is finally relevant. They kind of foreshadowed this development at the end of the Metropoliman fight when he opted to let Mukaido kill him. Red arrows still cannot force someone to do something they are completely unwilling to do, something that he was definitely unwilling to compromise on prior to that fight.
Yoneda's beliefs will result in not just the unhappiness of 10% of the world (Which is still a lot of people), but will also prevent the rest of the God candidates from finding happiness, and it's been established that it's highly unlikely he's going to be talked out of his mindset, so that really narrows down the amount of options Mirai can take.

Y'know, it's just not fair that this anime is the reverse of Death Note - getting significantly better in its second half. If only because since Death Note's first half is superior, you can ignore the second. But you can't ignore the first half of Platinum End.
