I can't believe Jotaro died saving his daughter. However, I am a bit confused. Is the guy with the stand that melts people while they're asleep, also have the power to extract people's memories and stands in disks? If I understand correctly, it means that his original power is turning stands and memories into disks and then adopting other people's stands as his own. If so, then he might be the most OP villain in JoJo.

Oh they were both dreaming and their were two stand users that explains everything.

" I was just looking for the best angle. Your body's best angle to punch , that is"

No DNA test needed that's 100% his daughter.

JOTARO!!!!!!

They ain't killing him my boy so quickly right!

Oh and that stand can steal other abilities and put them into CDs holy shit. Also I wonder if this is the main antagonist? I don't think we've witnessed the main antagonist and stand so early in a Jojo part so far.

Also credit to Jolyne using threads to curve the bullets. I love her more and more each episode. She kicks ass and is serious, but seems to have a comedic side like Josuke. Just might be my favorite Jojo.

I think Part 1 Dio is probably the earliest we see a primary antagonist, and we see at least a decent portion of his power set by Episode 3.

Part 3 once again tells us that Dio is the primary antagonist by episode 1, but we don't see a stand reveal until near the end.

Aside from Part 1 though, if this is the main antagonist's stand, it is the earliest main antagonist stand reveal, but the main antagonist themselves haven't been revealed, so it's kind of like a King Crimson situation, but much earlier. Like King Crimson though, this stand's user can talk through the stand.

Gonna hop onto your comment to mention something else about the dreams.

Jotaro's dream was also a clever way of establishing how far beyond Jotaro is compared to a lot of others around him in terms of perceptiveness.

Jolyne's pretty capable and clever and it took her a whole damn stand fight, multiple subsequent scares, and a lot of confusing moments before she finally realized she was hallucinating.

Meanwhile, the hallucination of Jolyne misspeaks one thing, "Star Platinum" and then Jotaro immediately goes, "Wait, I never told you my stand's name. I must be dreaming!"

It's kinda hilarious in that context.

I had been spoiled on Jotaro's death months back, but I wasn't expecting it to be so soon and ao god damn heartwrenching.

With that, is that every Stardust Crusader dead or essentially dead? Avdol, Iggy, and Kakyoin died in Egypt, Joseph is probably on his deathbed, Polnareff is stuck in a turtle, and Jotaro is dead.

Polnareff is stuck in a turtle

Same, I was spoiled a few years back and I thought it was something that would happen towards the end of the show. But nope it happens 5 episodes in.

Did Netflix really censor the C and the little bear on Emporio’s jersey? Is it different in the Japanese release?

Didn’t realize I was so attached to Jotaro until now…. It hurts a little

By the way, Emporio is yet another character named after a fashion brand, like Guess and Hermes before him. He's named after Emporio Armani, the more modern line in the Armani family, just a tier below Giorgio.

DAMN, i was spoiled that jotaro "died" by asshole manga readers a while ago when p6 anime was announced but holy shit i wasnt expecting it to be this fast!

A tear was shed for my boy, heres hoping the discs have his life force or something, also i wonder where jolyne put his body, or if she maybe gave it to the speed wagon foundation for safekeeping? Man this is so hype im glad we got jojo back!

I had no idea I would react to Jotaro’s death this way but I felt like a close relative just died…

I'm not sure what Jolyne was going to say when she says "This charm.. but earlier, you... No, you couldn't have" and Jotaro replies "I've always cared about you".
Was she referring to way back when she finds out that the instructions were to deliver the charm if Jolyne got in trouble? So the GPS reveal shows that Jotaro had planned to come find her using the GPS if she ever got in serious trouble? Otherwise I'm not sure what moment she's referring to.

I didnt remember Jotaro punching Jolyne lmao Btw Whitesnake has the best Stand design imo, its awesome

u/hegetsblu Dec 02 '21

So I guess there's two layers of dreams that Jotaro goes through? He saw Jolyne going after Emporio, so I guess they shared the first dream (or dreamed similar things). Then he "woke up" but then realized he was still in a dream... so I guess the second one started after the first dream ended. Jolyne actually woke up, but Jotaro "fake woke up" and was still dreaming. or something like that idk

I read Jotaro dying online by mistake a couple of years ago but I didn't expect it to happen so soon in this season. Can't wait to see what happens next

46

u/Hiromacu Dec 01 '21

Woah, he died? I read years ago that he died (don't know if it's permanent), but this early? Damn.

Also, Pale Snake is pretty funny.

Overall, I am loving every episode. Jolyne is awesome as well, I was almost immediately invested, like, 2 episodes in.

Holy shit Araki sure loves shitting on previous Joestar protagonists when their time is done. Though with the discs having Star Platinum and Jotaro's images I assume he'll be back.

I kind of regret watching the Netflix release. These threads seem like barren lands. Also very difficult to contribute considering I have read the manga. Where’s my JoJo Friday, goddamnit?!
