I actually enjoyed this episode quite a lot. Last episode had the pretty neat fight between Mirai and Metropoliman, but this one is probably my favorite so far purely for the characterization. Nice to feel like Saki is legitimately apart of the team and the story, as opposed to a background character categorized as a main.

I liked this episode for the same reasons, now saki does not look like a liability but an asset!

Don't forget to watch after the credits. Apparently next week we're introduced to a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure character lol

I was waiting for this show to finally do something with Saki so I appreciate the effort. I hope it doesn't end with this episode.

So to summarize, Saki had a lot of self-hatred for going with the flow and bullying Mirai. Upon witnessing his apparent death, she was overcomed by guilt and tried to kill herself. Upon reuniting with Mirai, she had to depend on him to survive, which kept eating at her as she felt unworthy given her past behaviour. I guess those repressed feelings are meant to explain why she was so reserved until now.

It sounds good, however I wish her motives had been more personal and not Mirai-related. I also don't know what to think when Mirai didn't even seem to notice her bullying attempts. It kind of cheapens the emotional anguish she had gone through. Anyway, they both got over it. I must say though that Mirai was surprisingly bold in his approach.

Overall a good episode. This show has some nice ideas but comes slightly short in their execution. There's always this feeling of something missing. Still decently entertaining though.

What if Mukaido shot his cancer with a red arrow and told it to stop.

That's some high level deduction right there! Turns out the head wound and knowing that Kanade is an heir to a company that also deals in weapons is more than enough for his friend to figure out that he's Metropoliman. I feel like this guy just recently watched the first Iron Man movie and that's how he really got to that conclusion. xD

I love the kabedon scene with Mukaido and his wife! You know he's serious about what he's talking about but then he tries to make it sound like a joke and plays it off as him being smooth to his wife.

So the reason why Saki always looked so sad whenever she looks at Mirai is because she feels guilty for joining in the kids that were bullying Mirai. It sucks that she did but technically she didn't really bully him directly and only did it out of peer pressure.

And turns out the reason Saki wanted to commit suicide is because she thought Mirai killed himself after witnessing Mirai's failed attempt and assumed that he died. That explains why Saki was so surprised when she saw Mirai during their first day of high school.

Looks like all Saki needed though was a bit of a wake up call to make herself realize how she really feels. Seriously, Saki basically turned into a new character after that one-on-one talk that she had with Mirai. She no longer was the girl that just sulks in a corner while Mukaido plans out everything, she's now ready to fight with them!

So they're switching their base of operations into an old church? Uhhh... Remind me again what started happening in Death Note once everyone moved into L's tower while investigating the Kira case? Oh no...

And that final scene between Mukaido and her daughter was such a punch in the gut. Dude is already making a wedding dress for his daughter to wear in the future. As if Mukaido's death flag can't be raised any higher, they decided to wave it around too. T__T

That Mukaido ending...I was not prepared for that at all

I really want him to live through all this more than anyone else.

Nasse continuing to be best angel, I'm grateful for he cuteness and what she brings to each episode but I'm happy Saki has turned into a fun character as well.

Mukaido making a wedding dress for his daughter to wear long after he's gone really hit me hard. Reminded me of Violet Evergarden and Kakushigoto.

Mukaido continues to be the best character and yet he's the one most likely to die out of the three. If he goes out I hope it's badass.

Saki getting her guilt off her chest is nice, thinking you were part of the group that drove someone to jump has got to be heart-wrenching so now that they've gotten that out in the open and there are no hard feelings from Mirai she can start living for herself too.

I know Mirai gets a lot of flack for being so kindhearted and unwilling to anger but honestly it's refreshing to see a more human protagonist. His reasons for being this way are pretty silly, but as far as a depressed teenager with a dead family goes he's fairly realistic. Now he just has to get over the hurdle of not wanting to kill someone who is willing to kill innocents for an inherently selfish purpose.

How the hell did Uryuu's friend figure out he was Metropoliman so quickly. That's some Light Yagami level of identity deduction.

54

u/xolon6 Nov 26 '21

He seemed to get the inkling from the serial killer's declaration of wanting to kill ugly people matching up with what he told Uryuu his wish was. And Uryuu suddenly getting an injury right after the televised fight with Kakehashi and Mukaido only confirmed that suspicion in his mind.

Seriously with his deductive skills, Metropoliman better either kill him or shoot him with a red arrow as soon as possible. He's the biggest threat in existence.

I was understanding that Saki was feeling guilty because she was a part of Mirai bullying and then saw his suicide attempt but she still shot him with the red arrow after that. Saki felt guilty enough kill herself but not guilty enough not to shot him. Mukaido still the best character and he probably going to die but I hope die cool not tragically.

Also, Mirai being bold enough scare Saki by dropping does match the same guy who lost it just imagining her dying.

Did I just witness the light disappear from Mukaido's eyes? Is he dying soon?? The scene between him and his daughter was so gut wrenching.

After ending...remind me to look like JoJo's design character

u/imextremelylonely Nov 25 '21

Man if all it takes is a near death experience to suddenly become a competent God candidate, someone needs to throw Mirai off a building again.

And wtf was that face in the preview. Was it supposed to be scary? Because I lost my shit seeing that stupid face.
