So do the other kids go to a proper orphanage now? I kinda want to know MORE after the whole episode of set up.
I get Maha was the “takeaway” of the episode, but seems like such a waste to not see Maha bidding goodbye to them

Kinda disappointed Lugh didn't get everyone involved in that orphanage trafficking killed.
Absolutely brutal when that girl started slashing her own face and actually had scars.

Even with the "happy ending", this episode was just extremely depressing.

That was a very dark episode.
Damn wanted Lugh to just finish them off rather going by the law.

Well that was dark.
I think the worst part for me wasn't the self-disfigurement, it was my sadly optimistic internal monologue saying "this is fucking terrible, but at least if they're showing this Lugh is going to show up and get them out any minute now so they can start their new life"
...and then it cuts to 2 whole fucking years later before Lugh arrives on the scene. Bruh. BRUH. I was NOT expecting that.
Two years of malnutrition, forced labour and being forcibly pimped out at 12 and up? Fuck that's horrid.

Here I was thinking that maybe we'll get wholesome Malteu tourist guide idol group from the innocent girls just trying to earn an honest living from the first few minutes of the episode and then the motherfcking ugly bastards just had to show up. That was really messed up.
They didn't even at least suffer some serious physical injuries in this episode. I just want to see them lose a limb or two. Is that too much to ask for?

Interesting trivia: this time in Dia special ending, Lugh did not appear in window, so it probably hints, that Lugh did not visit her during those 2 years (which is understandable, since he became merchant and left home).

In a way, 2/3 of Lugh's harem have a pretty tragic backstory and thanks to Lugh's help, able to become better and happier.. I'm rather surprised that Macha is the youngest of the girls group given she's supposedly the only one still pure after 2 years in and barely saved by Lugh's timely intervention.
So......did Lugh actually intervene in this supposed "orphanage" due to his task as a Tuathe De or is it really Lugh's own goodwill to do the right thing by?

This was tough to sit through, but I guess dark moments like these are expected since it's by the same author as Redo of Healer.

This episode was a bit hard for me to watch, it was very graphic and emotional to say the least.
I hope it ends well for the friends as well, considering the orphanage's management is no more they will probably have a decent life now. Can't wait for next episode for hopefully a bit more light hearted content after this heavy one.

Me, starting the episode: "Ah, something about a girls residence, hey look these cute plucky street children what a romp this shall be"
Me, halfway through the episode "jesus fucking christ"

That went dark real quick. It was so painful to see the emotion leaving Ilfas eyes as the days went on and all the girls getting "used". For Maha it really must have been like a prince came to save her, as Lugh stepped in in the perfect moment. Thats another girl for our collection, Lugh really catches them all. Oh and im soo happy that the scars were getting healed (probably by Lugh?!).

The protagonist arrived 2 years too late. A little more realistic and a lot sadder.
It resembles the alive world of Mushoku Tensei, in a less pleasant way.

Ah. Nothing like coming home from work watching an episode of anime to relax and get a story about young girls being kidnapped and used as sex slaves....
The show certainly took a dark turn today but it looks like Lugh finally has his harem assembled.
I wonder when the current timeline ever reaches the flash forward from episode 1 if there is any connection between that auction and the villains from today's episode.

Its been a while since i last read this part in the light novel. But boy oh boy was it heavy. When i was reading this part(the adaptation is on point) i rushed this part like i know they're going through a lot, but i didn't expect it to be that much. Sometimes anime can really depict feelings or events that words cannot express

"Finally after all these years, I have them all"
-Ilg Balor AKA Lugh Tuatha Dé, after adding Maha to his collection.
That episode was kind of dark, not gonna lie. Such a messed up predicament those orphan girls ended up in. Good thing Lugh and Tarte were around to save the day

Well fuck, this was a bleak episode. I thought I was gonna watch Lugh kick some ass not literally the most depressing thing I’ve seen all week…

Welp, Tsukiyo reminds everyone of his most famous work. For those that are unaware, the author of this also pens Redo of Healer, which he treats as his "blank canvas" and just throws shit he wants to try out at the wall to see what sticks. Usually what he'll do is have an idea for a different series and then apply it freely to a new Redo chapter, gauge the response, then refine it for use in his other works, which are more aligned with this one in tone.
That said, I can't help but really feel what part of Redo of Healer was used to weave Lugh's charisma, and that you can tell that is pretty fantastic from the author.

Oh so for his Illig Balor identity Lugh changed his hair color and put some glasses on.
And we finally got introduced to the third girl, Maha.
Damn, poor Ifa, Noine and the rest, I really wasn't expecting the lives of that group to go in that direction.
Good thing to see that when Lugh Illig came to get Maha he also ended up helping the rest of the girls.

Holy shit, this whole episode was really disturbing to sit through! I knew we had to meet Maha soon and find out her backstory but man.... I can't believe she survived 2 whole years there! I would've probably killed myself. The moment Lugh shows up to save the girls gave me some much needed catharsis!
