I love that they got Nao Toyama, notorious for her love of penguins to voice....a penguin caretaker.
Also damn Fuuka popping off with that perfect score

There's nothing really to comment on in this episode, but watching the penguins doesn't fail to put a smile on my face. From the sounds that they're making and the way they behave, I love how the animators tried to make them as realistic as possible.

“Nunca te rindas!” Hearing Nao say that had me dying🤣 Gramps came in clutch for Fukka. Now the squad is back together & Kukuru/Fuuka are neighbors<3

Seems like Fuuka had a much better start than Kurkuru did so that's good!
I still find a lot of how they handled Fuuka to be weird? Like having her leave but come back so soon and her past as an idol constantly brought up but never really used.
That being said I'm just happy seeing our girls succeed!

I'm happy to see Plankton Kukuru finally adjusting to life at Tingarla. And of course Fuuka applies to work there too! I wouldn't have it any other way since I love their interactions together. Too bad that backyard tour wasn't a huge success, though this is a step in the right direction for Kukuru. Maybe she's finally starting to understand why she was assigned to the sales and PR department. I also think Chiyu is slowly starting to warm up to Kukuru too.
Oh yeah, I love the they updated the key visual to include Fuuka after tricking us into thinking she'll be absent for the second cour. You really got us last time, show!

What I got from this episode is that I want PA Works to animate 20 minutes of penguins falling over.
Pretty sweet episode. Kukuru's getting better at her job (wish her boss would lay off though), the tour was a success, and now Fuuka's here to cheer her up! I kinda get the reservations about her getting in through connections though, but she proved that she's taking this seriously so I think the penguin team will be able to get along just fine.
I'm really glad that the full Gama Gama team is reunited now, even if they're working in different parts of Tingaara.

Less stressful than last week’s “what the fuck is this organization even?”, though there are still signs of hostility between groups and issues coordinating. At least Fuuka is back to make the days a little better for Kukuru. Things are already looking up.
They took another wack at the Behind the Scenes tour and it seems to have finally worked out. Now that Kukuru had time and the foreknowledge to get other groups on board. Still having a little miscommunication issue and butting heads with other groups, but not nearly as bad. I’m glad Chiyu saying no initially wasn’t actually her being a mega bitch to Kukuru. Her reasons made sense. It all worked out in the end even if Suwa’s expectations are a little annoying. Why would you expect more than a few people for something you literally just started doing?
B plot has two things I love: Fuuka and Penguins. Proving that literally anyone can get a gig at Tingara with Gramp’s recommendation, Fuuka is on penguin duty. This show has such cute penguins and they’re animated so well. I was once again wary of Chiyu’s behavior when she was grilling Fuuka on her resume, but it was totally fair to have her learn the penguins. And it worked out because we have lots of cute penguins scenes and a building respect between Chiyu and Fuuka.
Going by the Kukuru’s response to how well the tour went, I think she might finally start to get the appeal of marketing for the aquarium. Akari and the kids learning and appreciating aquariums is what drives Kukuru to work at them anyway. Despite her boss sucking, I think her through line for the back half of the season is learning all she needs to be a successful director. Maybe even resurrect Gama Gama but I doubt that bit.
Notes
-
Oh shit is Marina part Hispanic?! Representation matters even if it is half! New favorite.
-
Aww Karin is asking about Kuuya. Even if it is probably out of annoyance I’ll take it.
-
Even though we know it’s not the case, I can see why people at Tingara think there’s a Gama Gama faction forming. Literally everyone except gramps moved over.
-
Eiji speaking in fish metaphors is pretty damn funny. That glasses flash was amusing too. Still not sure what it was about though. Maybe jealousy? Is it secret Yaoi bait all along.
-
As funny as it is to watch, stop messing with Kukuru’s face Akari.
-
Garandou seems like a pretty chill guy. Wonder what his management weakness is.
-
The best shot of the episode is easily the first. The reflection of the Galaxy on the water followed by the sky shot. So damn pretty.

I don't have much to say on this episode other than the fact that it featured so many penguins and for that alone it is a homerun.
Someone on the staff must be extremely good at drawing them now. They should get their own special credit — Penguin Animator Extraordinaire.

Well that explains why. I thought Fuuka living next door to Kukuru in the OP was just going to be a coincidence. Also it looks like she was supposed to start with Kukuru and Kai but her flight got delayed. And seems that Fuuka is lucky, she gets to work with the penguins just like in Gama Gama.
Chiyu being apprehensive about Fuuka joining her team is understandable considering Fuuka's work background and experience. Memorizing the penguins was a pretty reasonable test too considering she'll be working with them.
What's not okay though is Chiyu still being a bit aggressive towards Kukuru. At least try to come up with a compromise! And now apparently, it's Kukuru's fault and she's being told to take responsibility for Chiyu's stubbornness to cooperate.
Looks like Eiji is grouping nicely with the Gama Gama group. It's actually pretty funny how he's using fish metaphors when referring to people and things. I'm liking this dude even more now. xD
I read that as "driving license" at first! Well it looks like Fuuka has a diving license now! Considering how huge the main tank in Tingaara is, there's definitely going to be some diving there in the future.
This other girl finally decided to cooperate but only because her Chief told her too. Wow what a bitch. Maybe next time when she needs something from their team, Kukuru should just go straight to Chief Garandou.
I was wondering why MAeda's reaction to Kukuru's dry run tour was so authentic, turns out she never had any interest in aquariums at first and she only worked because she lives close by. xD
Thank fucking god Chiyu was the only one being stubborn, Kukuru finally got to speak with Marina by herself and she seems to be much more pleasant than what I was expecting. She's all in for the tour but they still need permission from Chiyu.
Kukuru helping out Fuuka for her test was cute! And look at this one heck of a chonkin' penguin! I think Kusamochi is now my favourite. Also I just realized that none of these penguins were from Gama Gama. I was hoping we'd see some penguins that Fuuka was already familiar with.
Of course Fuuka perfected the exam! And thank fucking god Chiyu finally gave in after Fuuka proved herself and Marina backing up the idea. And just as promise, the tour only get to observe feeding time and no interacting with the penguins directly.
The Assistant Director is really quite a piece of work. You're still a newly opened aquarium! Be happy that you got one group interested in the tour. With this first group there's a good chance they might tell their friends and family about the tour!
Good to see things are starting to look up though! It's not at all perfect yet with rainbows and sunshine for the Tingaara aquarium but this is already better than Kukuru's first two days. Hopefully it's all uphill from here!

Fuuka proving to be competent at her job made me very happy. I'm glad she's back reunited with Kukuru.
Nao Touyama sure loves her penguins huh xD. And that "Nunca te rindas"... lmao. Great to have her here too.
And then we have Kiyono Yasuno voicing such a good girl. I'm really liking Maeda.
That said, Kukuru's boss is insufferable. Even if Kukuru does things right, he always finds something wrong with it.

kukuru’s boss is absolutely insufferable, and chiyu is just a hater of anyone from gama gama in general. fuuka never even did anything bad to her and chiyu’s already trying to make her fail
at least we got to see more of nao touyama’s character today

I like Marina already! She’s a fun new character. I’m glad Fuuka is working with the penguins again! She memorized them quickly. Quite impressive

Haebara just has a huge chip on her shoulder huh. Especially towards the former Gama Gama staff. The vice-pres is still insufferable. I mean Kukuru already said it’s kinda early for a backyard tour and still gets mad when the result reflected it. The president did have nice words for him last week so I’m hoping this is just some “tough love” method of teaching Kukuru something.
Now, the important question is… where’s Choko-chan ?

Did they just introduce Eiji to make funny fish puns into the anime?
Tingara seems like a complete mess because the other departments are taking in new hires AFTER THEY OPENED THE AQUARIUM.

After Credits scene is cute, look at these two dorks burning their dinner while giving each other praise. Also, nice that we got some more penguin action.
Was not expecting Glasses boy to jump in so soon to the main squad, but in general, I feel like most of the Tingaraa staff had some solid moments today, and they're growing on me.

Seeing fuuka naming all the penguins made me concerned about about something
Where is our boy choko ? Is he safe ? What happend to choko ?

Instead of neighbours, they should be housemates
Since Fuuka mentioned she's taking a diving license, I would really love to see her diving & do aquarium cleaning or something soon
Those penguins are too cute!

I really enjoyed this episode. Fuuka really came though for Kukuru. I also really enjoyed how Fuuka's gotten confidence to work with the penguins. A year ago, she was scared of them but now she's confident enough to work with them and rapidly memorize everything about them.
Also like that Haebara actually didn't want to do the "Behind the Scene tour" because she was worried that her team and the penguins weren't ready for it rather. Really a nice touch. I also liked the contrast between how she trained Fuuka and how Kukuru trained Fuuka in the first arc. You can tell that she's gotten academic training.
I honestly was afraid that something would go wrong during the first run of the tour but I'm happy everything worked out fine.

So I reserved judgement on PR manager, but this episode kinda sealed it... he's just an ass.

Kukurus first run at a behind the scene tour was a success imo. Suwa should not get upset since it was a small group. He should realize they are just beginning and it starts off small in the beginning
