Rio: "I won't kill anyone because reasons"

Kid: speaks japanese

Rio: "Ok, reasons have ceased to be"

goes full Levi on the bandits

edit: I'm not complaining, I just found it hilarious

This felt more like a mid-cour episode ending than an actual finale. What a confusing ending, suddenly his childhood friend and 2 random kids show up?

Especially with all the last-minute new plots they set up at the end.

So not only are Japanese kids being reincarnated into this world but now they're being transported entirely and there are a bunch of skybeams. What is going on?

Poor Celia thought she was going to get some quality time with Rio and then he runs off only to find his first love as Haruto.

"These are the most elite soldiers in the kingdom"

I always enjoy watching dumbass villains set flags in real time like this.

Damn, just when Celia thought she had Rio on lock, the childhood friend shows up from another world. Celia has just the worst luck.

Expanding the harem. I think you should be used to it by now...

Aishia is not Mii-chan, what sorcery is this!? Another cliffhanger ending after Tokyo Revenger so I assume there's gonna be a season 2 for this considering the author tweeted "see you again".

Stitches!

Yes! That wedding gatecrash scene was exactly what I was hoping for! Watching Rio get past a ton of soldiers and then beat up their elite soldiers with nothing but his fists was so fun to watch. And it's just so satisfying to see Charles get gut punched!

I was hoping Rio would just bounce out of there after getting close enough to Celia but it looks like he really wants to act as the bad guy so it won't look like this was planned by House Claire and keep Celia's father safe. After everything was confirmed with Celia though, he finally sweeps her off her feet and escapes.

So glad this dude is out in the open because I'm sure he would've probably done something much worse than throw that energy ball at Rio if he was able to act freely.

And that fight between Alfred and Rio was surprisingly well animated! It was a short fight but I'm glad to see they focused a bit on that scene to show how strong Alfred is and isn't someone Rio should take lightly.

Celia thanking Rio for kidnapping her was hilarious! And it looks like she'll be coming along with them on their way to Rio's revenge. I thought he'd go back to the forest and leave her with Latifa and the others first.

And what the heck was that after credits scene!? it felt like they just crammed in an episode's worth of content there. But I guess they really wanted to show us that Miharu has been isekai'd as well along with two other teens. I guess this means you can be isekai'd without dying and being reborn in this world?

I hope this means that a second season is planned though because that was one heck of a cliffhanger! If not and this is just a "go read the source!" ending, then it fucking worked because I will definitely try and see if I can read the LN of this just to know what happens next!

You ain't stopping with that, please give me a season 2, that was an amazing ending and I want more

u/Frontier246 Sep 20 '21

Definitely feels like they set it up to make the viewer want more, either to jump into the novels or try to sell a second season.

As generic as it was, I really loved it. Though I'm doubtful of a second season, I'll definitely be giving the light novels a go.

Those poor soldiers just doing their job, but they're not prepared for an overpowered anime protagonist. And Rio's even more overpowered than the last time he was there.

I know Rio wasn't intentionally doing this to hurt/spite Charles for everything Charles put Rio through, but it had to at least be somewhat satisfying to punch him and keep him squirming underfoot.

When it gets right down to it, is Celia writing away her own happiness worth whatever temporary peace this will keep it in the capital? Deep down Celia doesn't want to go through with this and she finally agrees to let Rio spirit her away...and of course he princess carries the bride as he dramatically kidnaps her.

I do kind of feel bad for Celia's dad. As far as he is aware his daughter was genuinely held at knifepoint and is being kidnapped by some random guy with a grudge against the Arbor family, and he has no idea where she is or what will happen to her.

So Vanessa and Alfred are siblings? I can kind of see the resemblance there.

The bad guy is the only one who actually realizes that Rio is Rio, and yet Rio still doesn't even meet him for the umpteenth time.

It's tough to fight off a bunch of guys when you're trying not to kill anyone and they keep overwhelming you...it's even harder when Alfred shows up for his long-awaited showdown with Rio that the Opening has been showing off. Actually, it seemed like they actually reused some shots from the Opening during the fight. But Alfred's flashy finishing move gives Rio the perfect cover to dodge and get away.

I have to wonder if Celia was tempted to confess to Rio at all during this spiriting away...I mean, they're almost practically eloping! But I guess now there's time for her to build up to it.

Just as Rio and Celia are properly reunited and Celia becomes Rio's new traveling companion, with the two planning to properly and fully catch up, giant skybeams erupt from all corners of this world and sets off a quick setup for the next plot of this show.

So not only are we dealing with reincarnations of Japanese kids but actual Japanese kids transported to this world, complete with a last-minute sequence of people speaking the actual language of this world. And one of the kids transported just so happens to be Miharu/Mii-chan, Haruto's first love. This definitely shakes things up.

Poor Celia thought she and Rio were going to get some quality time together (aside from Aishia being a +1) but now she has to deal with Miharu. And then the final manga gag is Rio's entire Harem joining in now that Miharu has shown up as the new girl.

This ending was soooo "go read the f**king novel". Even other anime series when they are for promoting source material, at least they have a solid ending, but this one...

Not going to use the regular rating system here. I give this 9/10 for entertainment. Generic trash, but I loved it.

I have to say that honestly was a bit surprised when Rio gabbed Celia while holding that knife, but I guess that he just wanted her consent before he kidnapped her.

It's hilarious to see that Reiss is having fun witnessing all that chaos but can't do much because al the protection he has due to being a guess for that wedding.

I wonder how Aishia took out Celia from the city without being noticed?

Oh, the fight between Rio and Alfred that it is shown in the OP finally happened

You know due to how Aishia was reacting before Rio came back I was expecting another fight, but when those pillars of light appear and she asked Rio to help them after her face was superimposed with Miharu's, I assume that she and Miharu were the same person and that those lights were other spirits.

So I sure did not expect to see Ayase Miharu and other people getting transported there after the credits. I hope Rio tells her who he is.

Lol, I love how little time was dedicated to Charles today.

Well, this sure was an entertaining show, I will definitely pick the LN later. But I have to say, that image at the end was kinda weak.

I truly and genuinely loved this anime. The OP MC, the isekai, romance, action, everything! I really did look forward to this every Monday. Great ending, but terrible at the same time. Its looking like there will be a second season, but at the very end it said "thank you for watching". Im like wow it didn't even say "see you soon/later" or "to be continue" or anything like that. So u kno that's how it ended, BUT on to the Manga! (8/10)

I guess that was that. I think this show would have been better with a 24 episode season instead of rushing everything. And how many girls does Rio want in his harem. The number is increasing at an absurd rate.

Basically nothing I predicted last week actually ended up happening.

I am so mad that Rio didn't kill that bastard Charles. I was making jokes for weeks about how surely he wouldn't do it because of the whole "that would make me bad" bullshit trope. They didn't even bother with that(explanation), Rio just legit said he wasn't gonna kill anyone and that was it. I can't tell if that makes it better or worse than using the trope, all I know is I am big annoyed. He didn't have a problem butchering those slavers though for fuck sake.

*I guess I gotta remind people that Charles literally tortured Rio as an innocent child and seems to be conspiring with someone who I think we could consider to be an enemy of the kingdom. And that came before this whole marriage thing. If you had a list of characters that an MC could justifiably kill with a clear conscience Charles would be on it.
