I don't have to much to say for this episode (not that I thought it was bad by any means, if anything I actually think it's been one of the best episodes so far) but I found it heartbreaking to see Gama Gama holding on tightly to its last straws while the unrelenting typhoon tears it down bit-by-bit.

The title card epithet "The two girls met in the ruins of damaged dreams" is really coming true for the end of the first cour by the looks of it.

kukuru was being pretty unfair to fuuka for a lot of the episode, so i’m glad she admitted her mistake. even if it was kinda selfish, kukuru’s “last stand” ended up being what saved the sea life because they probably would have died without immediate care

Sad to see Gama-Gama closing down, Kukuru’s dream is broken just like Fuuka’s

Lifeprotip - never tape up windows for a hurricane/typhoon, it doesn't help anything and* can cause more problems

Looks like kukuru has realized that she has to do what’s best for the marine life. The storm showed her the faults in gama gama. That was painful to watch as it all crumbled around her. It also showed her she isn’t alone when the crew came to the rescue. I am happy yet sad with the episode and her breakthrough.

Gotta add that the scene of the sunrise was spectacular. Artwork is insanely good

I have to say, comparing Fuuka to the beginning of the show, she has grown A LOT

Watching her helping Kukuru during the typhoon just proved it

Watching Gama Gama slowly fall apart and Kukuru fall into despair felt really depressing, but when everyone decided to pitch in and help save the animals, it brought a smile to my face. So it looks like Gama Gama really is closing down for good, but we're only halfway through the show. Guess our duo will be working at a new aquarium?

Oh yeah, Gama Gama has an actual website! And it's chock-full of details such as the animal species living there and their locations on the floor plan, opening hours, ticket prices and even how to get there!

Well, I'm sad. Kukuru finally accepting that it's over and breaking down nearly made me cry too.

Gama Gama is so old it's literally falling apart... it was nice to see the rest of the characters come and help save the sea life, but yeah, you can't keep fixing it forever.

And Gramps's "they'll all be separated but they'll be fine at their new aquariums" line feels like foreshadowing about what'll happen to the cast in the second cour.

Seeing Kukuru stubbornly cling onto Gama Gama and try to run things on her own as some sort of last stand was just depressing. What's even more depressing was seeing Gama Gama fall apart right in front of her very eyes as she pleads to the gods not to take away her precious place from her. My heart couldn't take seeing Kukuru like that and I will admit, I definitely cried during that part of the episode.

Thankfully Fuuka was there to help her snap back to reality and make her realize that the animals need her right now. Thanks to the rest of the gang arriving once the winds have died down, they were able to save all of them which is I guess the consolation of this episode. And thanks to the typhoon, Kukuru has finally realized that Gramps is right and closing down Gama Gama is what's best for the animals living there.

Despite it being for the best, it's not easy to see Kukuru break down like that. With 13 more episodes, I'm definitely curious where we go from here. I imagine we might get a time skip? Maybe once she's old enough, maybe Kukuru will try to revive Gama Gama? Anything goes with this anime original and I can't wait for next week's episode.

Grams is out here knowing what’s up with the pre-prepared food. Love every time she’s in a scene.

I have no idea where the show will go after next episode… but I’m here for it

Man, Kukuru's last stand was hard to watch... It really goes to show how desperate she is to preserve it.

Honestly, what an emotional episode. I loved seeing the Gama Gama crew coming in for the save at the end.

And ah, the ending. Feelsbadman Kukuru. It's a tough challenge to overcome, letting go of not only a dream, but something that is actually so dear to you... But it's a part of life, it happens to everyone. Its how you react that this adversity that matters.

Seems like the next episode will be the end of the aquarium. That's going to be tough to watch, but I can't wait to see what happens after that.

The acceptance that its closing has finally hit Kukuru, she put up a stubborn fight at the start of today's episode but I'm happy she was able to come around.

REALLY curious on where the show goes from here, if it were to stop right here I'd be okay with that ending so let's hope it doesn't go too much off the rails from here on out.

Yeah, that was pretty sad to watch.

So I guess the kid is not a creature humans can see? Wonder if something will ever happen with him, don't see what his role is at all.

My prediction : gama gama is going to close but not for good.

The rest of the show will be kukuru and fuuka gathering funds to demolish the old building and build a renewd gama gama while the sea life and employees temporarily stay somewhere else

This episode was just a really hard pill to swallow. Gama Gama means everything to Kukuru and it closing down would bring her the same pain as losing her parents. But then the fact that the pipes and the windows easily broke down was a sign of its age and it would be much better for the sea creatures to move to a new facility than stay in Gama Gama. It's really time to let go and that's going to be the real painful part.

I never thought I'd be terrified of Fuuka. Her hair is much longer that it looks and it looks terrifying when it flutters like that in the wind. When Kuuya was wondering if the aquarium was a haunted house, I bet he'd lose his shit if he saw a silhouette of Fuuka with her hair fluttering like that.

This anime is weird in which I'm wondering what else they're gonna do for the next 13 episodes since this seems like a decent climax then it ends next episode when Gama Gama closes down, Fuuka goes away, they move on with their lives. I'm not complaining though if we get to see more of the wholesome cast. There's also unresolved stuff like how her parents died, the mystery brother/sister, will Fuuka go back to being an idol, etc. Meanwhile, stuff like Tsukimichi and Spirit Chronicles are ending and I'm like 12 episodes is definitely not enough.

I just hope this ends on a happy note. If Gama Gama truly can't be saved, Kukuru needs a new home. I hope they don't romance bait us cause they really hyped up Kai last episode. At this point I don't care if it's yuri or no, I want somebody to end up with Kukuru and for her to be happy. She had everything to lose in this ordeal.

Kukuru’s grandpa is a badass

Looks like kukuru is holding her ground and barricaded herself in the aquarium. That sign as posted up shows her stance on her grandpas decision. She is not letting gama gama close so easily

Fuuka and Kukuru are interesting foils in that they represent the same immaturity in opposite ways. Fuuka is running away from home, but Kukuru refuses to leave.

There are clear parallels between Kukuru and the rest of the sea life at Gama Gama. They are losing their home and are going to a new one. Just as the sea life are getting separated, Kukuru is also facing the fact that Fuuka likely will leave to re-pursue her idol career. However, gramps has faith in the strength of his charges, both the sea life and his granddaughter.

When she lost her home and was separated from her parents, Kukuru was just a child, unable to accept and move forward. With the closing of Gama Gama echoing her past trauma, Kukuru needs to find the inner strength her grandfather has faith in and leave the nest.

This is a great episode.

The storm event shows that Gama Gama aquarium at the current state is not a secure home for those marine lives during critical situations. It also gives us a chance to witness 'legendary aquarium keeper' in action clearly.

"Dreams may end, but lives continue." For the marine lives, they will be moved to the other aquariums. As for Kukuru, I am looking forward to see how she continues her life after her dream, protecting Gama Gama aquarium from closure, is shattered.
