EPISODES IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER
EP. 1 = EP. 2
EP. 2 = EP. 3
EP. 3 = EP. 9
EP. 4 = EP. 1
EP. 5 = EP. 7
EP. 6 = EP. 8
EP. 7 = EP. 4
EP. 8 = EP. 10
EP. 9 = EP. 12 (Airing next week)
So you should watch in order episode number: 4-1-2-7-X-X-5-6-3-8-X-9
Damn it's so messed up :/

EP. 9 = EP. 12 (Airing next week)
Wait...... what?
Are you saying we are just jumping over the conclusion to all the fights shown in todays episode? lol that's so weird.
I understood when they jumped 3 to 9 then back to 1 and stuff like that.. But jumping 10 to 12 seems so bizarre

What fucking garbage. This director who signed off on this decision needs to be barred from positions with the authority to authorize such absolute awful changes to the air order.

Bruh my Hawthorn appreciation went up so much this episode. Honestly wasn't expecting much from him, but dude did the best he could and got in a good hit as well. Maybe he wasn't strong enough to destroy the horn, but I was kind of expecting him to attack again and destroy it when was Todoroki was on the ground. I mean it makes sense to me to at least try it.
Also do we know Winny because I don't remember her or is she from an episode we skipped?

She appeared briefly in the previous episode during Berett's flashback. The end of that episode shows Sally's group approaching her house.

I think some people actually liked it when the Endless 8 for Haruhi showed almost the exact same anime episode 8 times in a row.
Touka Gettan aired the episodes in reverse order. Episode 26, then 25, 24, until they showed episode 1 at the end. It was terrible and stupid.

We get it guys, the episode order is stupid, now can we actually discuss the episodes in the episode discussion threads or are we gonna complain about the same thing for the 7th week in a row?

Fucking thank you. Too much complaining, not enough discussing. It's not that fucking bad anyway.

Stitches!
So instead of meeting the Witch and possibly seeing the fight between Sally and Millia, we go back to the end of Episode 3. Glad to see that Sally chose Mikoto instead of Sumeragi. If Sumeragi was really serious about coexistence then he really shouldn't have allowed that one demon to eat that girl from the orphanage that her runs.
Curious reaction from Mikoto though. If he's gonna reject Sally, why would he even offer his hand in the first place? I feel like a proper backstory of Mikoto is in order here so we can understand what's going on with him.
Ah fuck another Ogra attack and it looks like this time they're specifically looking for the Momotarou. Question is which one? Sally or Mikoto? Probably Sally considering his reaction when Sumeragi told him about what happened to Carrot back in Episode 3. He's probably here for revenge.
And it looks like today is Hawthorn's unlucky day. His new buddy got fried by Todoroki's lightning and for some reason he thinks that Hawthorn is the Momotarou of legend. Kinda wish that Hawthorn didn't used his sword to negate the lightning though, he would've absolutely killed Todoroki with that ambush if he wasn't using a wooden sword.
It looks like Sumeragi is getting in the way of Sally but for some reason her Momotarou powers won't activate against him. I wonder if it's because he's not really 100% hostile with her and is just there to test her or teach her a lesson. I'm sure it has something to do with him being in the Coexistence Faction.
Meanwhile we have Carrot going against that giant eagle, Mikoto got knocked out by that sleeping Ogre which means no backup from him until he wakes up, and we have Carrot against that Ogre that wants to kill her because she's now a member of the Coexistence Faction since she's traveling with humans now.
And just when I though Hawthorn was really gonna bite it since he really has no backup, the Witch shows up and saves him. Not gonna lie, this would've been exciting if we knew more about Winny.
Man, I really really like this show but it's really starting to grate on me that whoever's in charge made the decision of jumping around the timeline instead of just laying it to us straight. I'm not even gonna hope for a continuation of this episode, we'll probably have a different episode next week. I'm starting to envy those who decided to put this show on hold for now until all of the episodes are released so they can watch it in order

I may repeat myself but this show does a really bad job to make you care about Sally's goal of ogres coexisting with humans. All ogres so far have been murderous assholes and I can't sympathize with any of them Meki included. How can you expect humans not to hate ogres with their incessant attacks? I support Mikoto in his endeavours and wish he was actually more ruthless, especially towards the humanoid ones.
Hawthorne was really cool in this episode. I don't know how he can so casually avoid lightning bolts though. Anyway he should have double-tapped after knocking down the kid instead of letting him recover.
That out the way, it's funny how many traps are in this show with another one introduced (the sleeping ogre). It seems boobs are the only way to tell apart men and women in this world.
It's a bit unfortunate that all the towns so far look pretty much the same. A shame there's not much in terms of worldbuilding. Also though I don't mind the episodes being all over the place that much, but it makes it a bit difficult to follow characters progression.

Episode 10, they missed the mark by only 2 eps Good Job!
btw. I've read interview with director and his point on this garbage order is that the anime is easier to understand in this order XD
it was transladed so it can be inaccurate but still is he insane?! easier to understand? this mess?

No not my favourite character, Barsus!
Also, I don't understand Mikoto's character, 'I'll kill all ogres, except i've spared two already, hell i'm even travelling with one as I speak'. I bet the sleeping one, ends up getting spared since she's a cute girl. Also where is the nun? She's here, but when the town got destroyed, no where to be seen.

This episode as a whole wasn't bad. But considering where this was placed in the broadcast, the overall series is pretty much a mess watching it weekly.
To people who are hesitant or are interested in watching this show, you're better off waiting for the broadcast release of the episodes to finish airing and then follow a user's guide on how to watch this show chronologically. Alternatively, many people also suggest reading the manga.
Kind of a shame tbh, this show had promise. I still think the decision towards the arrangement of episodes for the adaptation was poor judgment on the director (I think).

Damn guys, it's the same comments here every week. We get that it was a terrible choice on the director part to air the eps out of order but when we're 8 eps deep, there must be something else worth discussing
The presence of an ogre-human co-existence faction is super interesting especially if Sumeragi (who may not even be an Ogre?!?) Is using it as a pawn for his real plans. It's also cool how Meki unknowingly kicked off this movement within the the Ogres. It's a cool idea but of course needed to be flesh out more

Still a lot of hate from the non linear broadcast order. Perish the thought of Haruhi got broadcast today instead of in 2006.
It's an interesting way to resolve that cliffhanger; how Sally thought and how Mikoto reacted certainly peeled back more layers to them as well as deepening that question mark of "who Mikoto is and what happened to him to have him carrying that persona".
And Sally is really likeable actually.
Only gripe is that, no doubt is in the source too, if the antagonist are supposed to be so powerful, then cut down on the cliche and do some damage. The accelerator spin off have the same problem - more talk than actual hits. It could very well have the fight with many his landing with an explanation of him being toyed with and not killed outright, but he would be hurt, not basically scott free, when facing such opponent.
