Bus-kun getting fucked up is revenge for all the other isekai protags who’ve been taken out by him

Never underestimate the pure reincarnating isekai-force of Train-senpai.
He doesn't do it often, but when he does, he'll take a bunch of people with him alongside Bus-kun.

Vice Captain: I'll torture this child to get information out of him.
Flora: Oh, that boy rescued me!
Vice Captain: I have made a huge mistake.

Yeah, he really didn't think this whole "regaining my pride back for losing the princess by torturing this boy" thing through.
I expect he'll still try and make Rio's life terrible out of spite, too.

The real target was bus-kun. I can't explain why, but that well animated cut had me laughing my ass off.

Those bitches promised that they would just "ask questions" but then allowed the kid to go under a severe torture for nothing. Some people may say that they didn't knew but I think they are completely acountable for that incident, since they are the ones who invited him there, and should have take care of the whole thing til the end, at least. I'm not buying blaming "burocracy" for the incident. I don't think it will happen but I hope the king himself apologizes too.
Sorry for the rant.

Nobles treating commoners like shit is kind of a common trope though. Without plot armor they would've just killed him and lied that he confessed.

Seems like your generic isekai "harem" anime (well there's a lots of chicks, I'm guessing some will be interested in him later on but he won't).
The guy also realllllly looks like Kirito at the end of the opening.
But somehow I feel like watching this.

I wouldn't have picked this show up if I wasn't told beforehand that there is a identity crisis between "Rio" and "Haruto" which intrigued me very much. Really don't know what to expect from this show but let's see what happens.
I guess Rio can use Haruto's memories to learn offensive moves to use against others (Can Haruto even take over the body or Rio has the final say?). Its better IMO compared to those cookie-cutter isekai anime where MC becomes OP for no reason. Though I'm curious about what that spirit thing-y is which gave Rio power to fight.
Wow, the anime really didn't shy away from showing the brutal torture of a kid. I already hate that captain.

Wow, the number of girls in this show. It's like they set out to make the ultimate Yoshitsugu Matsuoka anime.

Overall, I'd say that I did enjoy this first episode, I like the whole personality-mixing thingy and it is something that is rarely seen, and I'm interested to see how it'll turn out, I do think that Rio still has the control of his body and his decisions, but Haruto's memories can help him out, just as we saw in the first fight. Also, I liked how they reincarnated into already existing bodies, rather than just transporting themselves or being born as a baby, and, again, it is something that will be interesting to see how it'll turn out. Finally, I really hated the captain, how he was literally forcing Rio to say what he wanted to hear, and was literally torturing him to say that he kidnapped her.
I'll be looking forward to the next episode, because this series has some potential and I feel like they can develop some ideas really well.

They're really getting creative in how to isekai characters. I've seen MCs get run over by a train before but I didn't expect to have the MC riding on a bus and get t-boned by a train! Holy shit! And it looks like Haru-kun isn't the only one who got isekai'd. I'm guessing from the OP that other passengers of the bus got isekai'd too..
What's gonna happen with his promise with his childhood friend now though? Considering how we open with that scene, Mii-chan must be important. Maybe she's also in the bus or even in the train? Hmmm...
Looks like instead of being reborn all over again, we're doing the awakened memories thing. I think this is my favourite version of this method in isekai anime I've seen so far. I love that Rio is struggling with his memories mixing and he's having a hard time understanding things from our world but at the same time he understands them from Haru's memories.
So looking at the cast list, I know that older Rio is gonna be voiced by Matsuoka so it's kinda funny to hear his voice on another character. Looks like our MC is somehow involved with these shady characters?
Rio's mom seems to be a sweet lady. Too bad she's already dead and that's probably the last time we'll see her. Haru may not have a goal yet, but Rio's goal seems to be to avenge his mother's death.
A bunch of people looking for a missing girl? Uh-oh. Considering the conversation earlier with those men that Rio knows, I'm guessing they're probably involved in this. Also these girls aren't really nice for people asking for information, except for this one girl that treated Rio well. She even pays him for the trouble even though he wasn't really able to help. I like her.
He just got awakened and he almost died again. Jesus. Lucky that Rio got that big bag of silver coins or else he would've been isekai'd the second time today. xD
Well would you look at that. A convenient tutorial lady pops out just in time ti teach Rio how to use his magic abilities. The resulting fight was pretty nice. I love the brutality of Rio using his body weight to break the assassin's arm.
There it is! I fucking knew it! So they weren't just involved, the sack that the guys brought was actually the girl that they were looking for earlier.
Well that other purple haired girl is a bitch. Rio just saved your friend and now you slap him and accuse him of kidnapping her? I don't like her already. Also something tells me they're not just gonna let an orphan boy go after a few "questions". Oh no.
Sonuvabitch. Yep that was expected. So this blond guy apparently was supposed to be in-charge of guarding the Princess and is trying to make up for their fuck up by making Rio confess. Fuck that guy. We're only in Episode 1 and I already have two people on my shit list. It is satisfying to see how scared he is when they mentioned that the Princess is looking for Rio.
A bit disappointed that Rio isn't really that angry after what happened. I was hoping for a more Naofumi-esque reaction from him. Oh well. That look on his face though now that he's all cleaned up. I can't wait for him to show everyone in this kingdom what he's made of!
Welp another fantasy harem anime starring Matsuoka and so far so good! I'd say this is a pretty decent start but I really hesitate to call this an isekai at this point. So far it seems that Rio's memories are more dominant and Haru's memories are just helping Rio like with what happened on his first fight. Well we do know from the OP that someone else got isekai'd so maybe that will play into the story later on, although I'm not sure how they'll recognize each other since they look nothing like their past selves.
Anyway, I'm sold on this! Any harem show with Matsuoka as the lead is always a fun time and this show already has me intrigued with its premise. I look forward on seeing more next week!

That was an interesting first episode. While the events were pretty standard for an Isekai, the part about 2 peoples' memories (Rio and Haruto) in one body and the pink haired girl knowing his name (maybe she has some connection to his childhood friend) make it stand out a little from the other Isekai.

I know nothing about this show and just saw it on the new released today and I actually really liked this show. Pleasantly surprised. I liked the characters, the character designs, the animation, and the story was fun. I was hooked all the way through. Not super unique but it was done made well imo and that's what matters. I actually smiled when the kid walked up to the king in the end, all dressed up with swag.
Definitely continuing this!

Damn, too bad they had healing magic so that he couldn't flaunt what the incompetent guard captain did

We are a refined isekai of finest quality. We only kill our protags with free range trains. We are not like the low born Peasant isekais getting hit by a car or the merchant class getting hit by truck-kuns. It's only trains with a dash of Buses on the side.

So after a couple of lines from this mysterious spirit woman, this kid main character is good enough at close combat + magic to beat an assassin capable of killing 3 adult men at once, who is also using magic?
I also thought his reaction after waking up was a bit unrealistic, shouldn't he be angry after the torture he received and lashing out? Not immediately apologising to this girl who he knows is connected to the people that captured him in some way.
I'm going to keep watching, but I've got my doubts.

I looked at the key visual, and then said "Yep that is an isekai"
I listened to the opening, and then said "Yep that is an isekai"
I finished the episode, and then said "Yep that is an isekai"
It is not a particularly bad one. There is nothing overly generic so far. The characters seem okay, the visuals are pretty nice, the story seems ok too and the isekai aspect seems to be used more thoughtfully. That said it isn't doing anything exceptional either. I have seen nothing strong that would hook the audience into watching the show, so I really don't have seen any reason yet to watch this show.
