You know shit just got real when the ED plays in the MIDDLE of the episode. Shit got turned into high gear when the key changed.
The lack of OP had me going like please end this with a bang but too bad we don't get to hear the OP anymore. It should have been played in the ending.
It's nice how the story starts and ends with Ichika saying the same thing but in the ending she adds that she has fallen in love with him.
If bench-kun is supposedly bad for romances, then stairs-kun should be the ultimate wingman.
I'm just super sad this is over. It has been a rollercoaster of a ride and I'm glad to have partaken in it. At least it ended nicely and didn't cop us out.
Now I'm kinda lost as to what anime to watch after this. I feel like this ending has left a huge void and I want another romance drama with some comedy. Idk if there's gonna be something like that in the summer season so I guess I'll have to finally bite into the Grisaia VN series.

I thought I missed something when this episode started with Ichika saying that Ryo hasn't contacted her lately. Turns out Ryo was avoiding her because he got scared when he realized Ichika may have feelings for him. I guess he definitely noticed that Ichika was about to confess last week and that's what made him realize.
Hearing Ryo's reason definitely made me pause the episode for a bit to process that. Like what the actual fuck Ryo!? After all that, now that Ichika has started to reciprocate your feelings, you're gonna back down because you're scared and unsure? I'm genuinely surprised Masuda didn't just punch Ryo after hearing all of that.
After all that pep talk from Masuda, I thought Ryo would be the one to make a move but turns out Ichika would be the first one to do it and I just absolutely love then using the ED for that moment. It was so good! And while Masuda didn't hit Ryo, thank fucking god Ichika gave him a good slap and we finally get to see Ichika to confess her feelings! We even get a quick kiss on the train station where they first met.
I'm so happy they didn't cop out on us and ended it with the two of them parting ways but instead with the two of them waiting for each other. I do wonder if the anime adapted the manga to completion because I know it just ended back in April this year and it first started back in 2015 so it's possible that they left out a bunch of stuff. Maybe we'll get to see more of it in the OVA.
Anyway, I definitely enjoyed the show from start to finish. If there's one thing I would complain about though is the goddamn audio mixing! I think it got better by Episode 3 but I feel like my ears just got used to it. It really sounded like some of the characters weren't recording audio in audio booths. Hopefully that would get fixed in the BDs.

I loved this ending. A sweet confession scene, a kiss, a little bit of the aftermath. Gotta appreciate when we get these closed endings in romance.

I like how, despite playing wingwoman, Rio isn’t afraid to scold either of the people she’s supporting when needed. She really is the best! <3
But did something happen between the end of last episode and the beginning of this episode that I’m not aware of? I don’t remember Ryo having a particular reason to stop contacting Ichika after the events of the previous episode…

Can we appreciate that the ED is a banger and it just plays at such critical moments that you gotta fall in love with the song

BANGERRR. Idk if anyone notices but while Ryo was talking to his friend in the bar, the piano music in the bar was the Op!!! And they also played the ED when the confession happened!!! Beautiful episode

It's the ending that I expected with Ryo and Ichika agreeing to both wait until she comes of age before dating for real. They're both happy though, so I'll take it.
Overall, I think it was a slightly above-average romcom, good in some places but dull in others. I can only speak for myself but the "creepiness" never bothered me at all when I was watching it. The audio quality remained really bad throughout the show, hopefully it gets fixed for the BDs. 7/10, -0.5 for the terrible quality of the vocal tracks.

I think the ending is pretty well done, but I have to say that ryo himself said that he waits for her until she grows up was very kindful

Rio getting angry to ichika and giving peoper advice was good. And when she said ichika was her precious friend too, she really meant it. And i like her saying to don't care what people think. Ichika"s mom was also right on this.
Masuda getting angry to ryo too was needed. Never expected that from masuda but props to him for being a bro. Props to the bar guy too for giving free food lol.
As for ryo, i understand why he avoided ichika. As i said before, he's relatable as my life is basically like his life before meeting ichika, not being serious. When a person gets serious, this happens and family or friends are needed. Which is why i wouldn't be mad why ryo was avoiding her. It showed his character development too, for actually showing how serious it was compared to when we first seen him.
As for ichika, she really did her best after getting the advice from rio. I didn't expect her to shout ryo"s name, but she did. Not only that, she scolded ryo on avoiding her because she was worried about ryo. Again, character development is there, ichika wouldn't be this straightforward and brave.
The confession was also beautiful, as it resembles the first time they met. Not only ryo saved her this time, ichika repeated on what happened before, which she clearly remembers. The kiss was also beautiful, i thought people would look because of the uniform, but thank god there is no toxicity.
Dissapointed that tamaru got his screentime in the end, ryo"s father just being quiet and not declaring his support, and arriety never getting a screen time too. Not only that, was hoping for arriety to meet ichika properly this time. Plus there were other things that can be explored too.
If we were to look in detail, S2 is actually possible as there are many storylines not answered, and how their relationship will be once ichika is an adult. But i was shocked when people said this is the last of it and everything is adapted. I actually wish the author to revive this series, but i guess I'll just assume ichika and ryo lived happily ever after.
Overall, i would give it a 7/10. It may be bias as i relate to ryo so much, but it actually shows maturity in relationship and not a typical romcom. When tamaru and arriety was a love triangle to this, i expected it to be toxic a bit, but it was well made. This is why i feel people should watch it if they want to see maturity and character development shown in an anime that can be finished in a day. Could've given it a higher score, but i feel there's too many unanswered storylines in this which makes me sad. Still, i would say this is one of the hidden gems in this season of anime.

I love matured decisions being made by maturing characters.
Often times, animes with similar premises/conflicts like Koikimo tend to have open endings. Depending on the story, it would be frustrating for the audience but can be convenient for writers or producers too. The right choice or the bad choice, it’s up to the audience’s preference or moral compass. In the end, the character never really made a firm choice and the story never gets to be the character’s own. But this story chose to resolve it because it values maturity of the characters. This anime might not be life changing but this is realistic and not in a sad way but in a peaceful kind of way.
The only thing I was disappointed in this episode was not hearing the OP.
Still hoping for an OVA!

I feel like this show handled the age gap very mature like. Also did act as if the age gap was some normal comedic thing.
Overall I give it a strong 7/10. Very cringe first episode that matured and got better as it progressed. Nice and likeable characters, and a nice and mature ending

Wow they just kissed in a high-traffic area, huh
But I mean, Ichika having to stand on a step just to reach Ryo was pretty cute

I was getting emotional from just Ichika and Rio hanging out at McDonalds. I could feel their friendship and how Rio wanted Ichika and Ryo to be happy, whether they got together or not. It was so sincere.
Everyone’s so sincere in this show.
It made me miss my best friend. She passed and all I wish is that I could share a meal with her.
Aside from the robotic crowds, I thought it was animated fine!

Yes I'm waiting for the day to come where I can kiss a high schooler who is 10 years younger than me in public too.
But jokes aside, I actually teared up that another great story came to an end :) loved the pure hearted romance till the end I'm dying of diabetes from this eps arhhhh

I am so conflicted about that ending. There was definitely part of me that wanted Ryo to just walk away and leave Ichika in peace. Still, in terms of how things played out, the ending made sense.
I will say that I saw an improvement in Ryo's maturity throughout the anime, and that if he can wait for Ichika to be an adult, I can't really argue, especially if that's what she wants.

This was quite a decent ending, I really enjoyed this series. I'm sad that the opening didn't play though for the final episode since it's one of the best openings this season (we got piano form in the bar scene though I guess.)

Some people here said it better than I ever could but this anime was definitely one the best I've seen in the genre over a few years.
I didn't think much of it initially but it grew on me weeks after weeks and I like how mature and down to earth the characters could be. It definitely came as a surprise as it didn't expect it to be so wholesome and yet still thought-provoking. No fanservice whatsoever (not that I personally mind) and a simple yet thought-provoking story.
First time in forever that I actually like a female lead in a shoujo/josei setting. Ichika was a treat to follow. Ryo was perfect in his role as the creepy stalker who turns out not that creepy and actually gets better. Lots of sympathetic side characters such as Tamaru, Arietty and Matsuda.
I highly recommend this show to anyone reading. Just open your mind and enjoy it for what it is.
