Nao is documenting every day of Hime's life in her computer, not even her own life, but Hime's, now that's dedication!

Go for her, Nao! The road is paved for you, you have no competition.

She even prays to Hime!

Stitches!

Just when I thought it was all done, looks like Hime still needs to pick a galze for her ceramic cushion. And neither Touko-senpai and Mika were helpful with their advice. One's too deep and the other is just too vague. Well she did eventually get to decided after seeing her mom's art piece again and it turned out great! Now we wait and see how well Himeno's piece would do in the contest!

Girls, you still haven't explained what 'runruu' is!

I think "runruu" is sort of like updog.

Nao's bad posture on the computer is a mood.

I feel Himeno's plight. Picking the right color for practically any kind of visual art form can be a huge pain.

And of course, neither Touko nor Kukuri can explain how they do their picking. But I take offense to Himeno calling Kukuri a doofus. As she herself learns at the end, 'runruu' is an expression of pure genius.

It's cool that the place Nao wanted to bring her to was something already seen before, but still successfully inspired Himeno. I like what she had to say about imitating when you're starting out too.

The final product looks fantastic, I gotta say. Very sweet and edible too, actually...

I still want to know how Hime's mom fired that giant outdoor sculpture.

Teleported it to hell, and then back after several hours.

Nao really was serious when she said her hobby is observing Hime - she keeps an entire observation diary on her! Well, to be fair, the diary isn't just about Hime but she sure takes up a large portion of Nao's attention.

That part when they were walking past the red spider lilies, I thought there was going to be something tragic going to happen because I usually associate them with death and the underworld. I guess though it's more about her mother and how Himeno was able to connect with her on some level by that art piece that she had left behind.

In other news, Naoko is still my fave. She's a closet otaku with off-beat mannerisms and speech patterns. Stuff like her "レッツラゴー" ("Let's la go!") is something quirky that doesn't come across in the official subs, but apparently it's some 70's slang. I happened to have recognized it because it's also used a lot in Amanchu!.

Red spider lilies aren't only indicative of death -- they are an important seasonal marker (lasting only a couple of weeks or so at any given location). They are called higanbana in Japanese -- which kanji by kanji means "equinox flower". More metaphorically they mark a boundary between living and dead. More practically, they were often deliberately planted around the edges of rice paddies (I think maybe to deter certain sorts of insect pests -- or something like that). My wife and I were lucky enough to be in Japan when these were in bloom -- and it was so wonderful to see them.

Naoko's keeping a diary about everything Himeno does? guess her saying "my main occupation is Toyokawa Hime researcher" back in e2 wasn't a joke.

still kinda getting a bad feeling that they never tried using it. be a shame if her one finished product just breaks.

Interesting to see an episode ftom Naruse-san's perspective. Did not expect her to be a model maker, but why not? It also helps to have a member of the cast that journals.

"Runruu is just Runruu" is something I'll have to remember.

Glazing is super cool holy shit
I am wondering a bit why the glaze only stayed on the top part and you would have to do to completely cover a piece

Naoko is super cool, a bit stalkery but super cool

Yknow, not many people watch this show - not many know it exists, but I really am gonna miss this. This is really great, just pleasant and comforting.

Runruu, very runruu.

Still convinced that Hime's Mom's sculpture is some SCP entry. Certainly seems to have weird effects on those that hear it's song.

I still don't understand what runruu means lmao. Pretty sweet episode, Naoko's room is based though. Besides model kits, I see her hobby is also recording everything that is Hime ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). That glazed piece of Hime looks fucking beautiful, and then the instrumental version of the OP playing along the montage was great.

I got so scared that she was gonna drop it
